All the threads lately seem to be about problems: coaching problems, player development problems, tv problems, cancers, trading, blah blah. That's all fine and good, but lets have a positive thread about our players for a change up.
How about that Magic game for our starting guards? Hendo doing a Crash impersonation with 24 points and 10 rebounds. When he actually becomes aggressive, his game opens up, from post ups, slashing, and pull up jumpers. It shows he has the ability, he just needs to tap into that mindset more often.
And Kemba with a 24 point, 7 assist, 4 rebound, 3 steal night. Most impressive was that 20 of those points came in the second half, and his clutch gene shined throughout the end of the game. That step back three over Vucevic had me jumping around, and he nailed several daggers from the elbows in the 4th to hold off the magic run.
But the best play to me was when he tipped that Afflalo pass with his pinky nail, then sped past Nelson like he was Diop heading to the vegetable aisle, corralled the ball, and hit the layup to stop the comeback when it hit only 2 points.
Whatever that magical "it" is, Kemba has it. They just have to be in games in the first place for it to work.

i think that was best possible scenario (Hendo scoring from everywhere) in the beginning of the game and best possible scenario (Kemba stopping the slide by himself) at the end of the game..
too bad this came against the 2nd worst team in the league, because normally the best case scenario usually turns out to be the worst case- where Hendo is 5-12 at half, Mullens is 1-6 from 3pt range and ends up having to Kemba forces up shots at the end because our bigs can't run the Pick n Roll properly
not trying to be Debbie Downer, but I can't wait til this game is the "Norm" and we actually close out games and dont drop the 15-20 point lead in the 2nd half..
Kemba follows up his last good game for back to back 24 point games. Is this showings signs of consistency for him, in being able to score effectively even with tired legs?
He also hit 4 threes, and is becoming a legitimate threat from deep. An interesting stat I looked up is that in home games, he's averaging 20.1 points, 6.3 assists, 3.3 boards, 2 steals, 46% FG, AND.... 42% 3FG!
Now, becoming a great player is all about gaining that consistency on the road just as at home. He's made a huge leap this year, and I can't wait to see what's in store after another off season of work. This is the first draft pick we've ever had to realize his full potential. Hopefully all our picks recently do the same thing.

yeah, the improvement has been stellar. if we drop novermber, he's been shooting .375 from three, so hopefully he can keep that level of production up.
let's not forget that he's played and started every game of the season. he's played 374 more minutes total our second most played player (sessions). that difference is more minutes than tyrus has played all season and is equivalent to how many more minutes sessions has played than gerald henderson or byron mullens. kemba has been a warrior this season.
i don't think it's hard to imagine he will make another leap by next year, when he's had another summer to adjust and is surrounded by more talent. he's a great player.
HC #MikeDunlap in pregame - "I have never been around a better pro, day-in and day-out, than #RamonSessions."
I think this guy should also get some credit, hope he is around longer than his two years to be honest, don't think were ever going to find a second PG who is that talented, versatile and is happy with coming off the bench. I only worry if he does well we will cash in on him with a trade, but I really value him and hope we dont

So Kemba has improved leaps and bounds this season. He gets way more minutes than other players on the roster. Is the equation for developing our other young players as simple as give them more minutes? Is that why ben gordon didnt play at all against the bulls?
