McRoberts is hardly my favorite Duke player, in fact I really don't care for him.

But, he is a gifted passer for a big man. He's no Anthony Mason obviously where you can run the offense through him, but he's a decent enough passer. Also a bit better rebounder than Warrick I think.

With us already having Tyrus, Warrick was expendable as a body-type, and McRoberts fits the bigger body type we need on defense. He's nothing special at all though, obviously.

I'm not expecting much from him, but it doesn't hurt to have somebody who can pass okay with your young talent, especially if he can get an assist or two to BB with interior passing.

I'm OK with the move. One bench player ( barely) for another. But at least we get some better passing and rebounding. And yes, he was a Thomas clone ( without the headache though)

Can someone explain this trade to me if it really is a straight up swap and Orlando is cutting Warrick? Why would Orlando trade for a more expensive player, then cut him and have to pay the higher salary? Why not keep McRoberts and just cut him? Did Charlotte include a second round pick or some other consideration?
