Did Charlotte include a second round pick or some other consideration?
I've tweeted this ? To a few people and haven't gotten a response.

The deal as reported makes zero sense, if Orlando is simply going to waive Warrick. Orlando should have just waived Josh and saved a couple hundred thousands.... Thre has to be a valid reason somewhere that we don't know about... Maybe the Bobcats included cash to even the trade out thus being cash neutral for the Magic and we get a 30 game look out Josh.

Josh could be a poor mans Mullens and if the price is too high for Mullens, Maybe Josh is the fall back option and we wanted 30 games to try him out and see him everyday in practice against

    Who knows?

They used their trade exception from Ryan Anderson to get Warrick, this was due to expire either at this deadline or the summer anyway so it saves them 4 million.

i didn't know shit about mcroberts so i'm gonna paraphrase from a popular sports website's pay for section player analysis (for what it's worth, i find these to be pretty dead on). i think these come out before the season starts and aren't updated through the year:

left handed, good leaper, good court vision.
averagte shooter, but will take it if open.
usually will dribble out after a rebound rather than take it back up.
    crappy defender.
turns the ball over at a good clip.
needs work on his strength and quickness.
his offense has fallen off in recent years (seems like he's reluctant to shoot).
likes to pass - for power forwards he's 7th in assist rate and turnover rate, 8th in pure point rating though

    his birthday is next week

Will be the recipient of tons of alley oops, runs the break well, very good ball handler. Played point guard in HS. One of the best white jumpers anywhere.

Not much of an offensive threat. Disappears at times. Makes risky no-look and behind the back passes. For as much as people say he's a good passer, he has made some really bad passes.

How does that save them 4 million? The TE is just an exception and doesn't hold a monetary value in regards to cap except when calculating to use the MLE, LLE, etc. If it expires it just expires with no cost.

    Default Bobcats Acquire Josh McRoberts

Steve Kyler explained it on twitter earlier, if you search out his account it explains it there. I'm not sure about exactly how, but the TPE from Ryan Anderson was used.

NBA article says slight increase in cap space....really slight. Goes on to say probably change of scenery. I think Hakeem had significant role during front-court injuries, then the reemergence of Mullens relegated him to bench..so I think Ben Gordon syndrome without petty temper tantrum. A younger player who sees little to no PT could have more upside (at least in this minor role and this time frame) than a red herring on a team with better bigs. A change of scenery, intuitively, works pretty well for younger bench warmers...especially if it is team with bad bigs..a morale boost.

Not to knock on Mully; but pretty baron aside from him.
