They've done their fair share of mistakes, to be absolute certain. They were more competitive in their earlier years than people want to give them credit, which meant that they typically didn't have a top draft pick, save the Adam Morrison draft, which wasn't that great of a draft anyway.

Overall, I've really enjoyed being a fan since they announced the franchise and feel like they finally have a vision now for how to build the team. It's a good time to get on the bandwagon.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

Ok, havent seen anything from the Bobcats yet, but friends over on the Raptors board tell me you have a good core, which is the place to start.

Surely you cant be anything other than competitive when people like Chandler played here.

Eh...we mighta been a lot better if Chandler actually showed up while he was here. He was constantly outplayed by Theo Ratliff and Nazr Mohammed during his stint here.

We used to have a reputation as a tough, gritty defensive team that was gonna beat you by outworking you led by prime Gerald Wallace as a shining example of all those attributes. When we injected prime Stephen Jackson into the mix it gave us elite defense on the wings and a guy able to hit tough shots

Unfortunately that team was too old, too expensive to build on so as soon as MJ bought the team he blew it up, probably for the best. Now we're just a league punch line on both ends of the floor.

I think in general you'll find Bobcats fans to be a lot more positive and upbeat than you'd expect given "worst team of all time MJ worst GM EVER lolo0l0l!!" stigma we have in national media. Trashing MJ is about the only thing Bobcats related that can generate readers at the national scale nowadays, so thats what we get. But most of us really like him.

I became a Bobcats fan back in 2009-2010 season, which was my first visit to the great city of Charlotte. Since their brief playoff appearance during the 2009-2010 season the team has went down hill since, as MJ became owner and wanted to go on a rebuild process. I personally felt that this season the team would improve much more than they have so far, but next season I am hoping for huge changes in the franchise. I personally love being a Cats fan because the team is exciting to watch and I know that soon they will make their fans happy. I live in a city with two NBA teams - Knicks & Nets and I feel that both teams may be better than the Cats but the Bobcats are more exciting to watch with all the young talent on the team. I have high hopes for next season, I feel that the rebuild process will finally end and the team will be more competitive next season.

Well it was MJ who got me into Basketball, and even my 2 kids (boy 4 girl 2) love him (as Space Jam is by far their favourite film lol) so thats one of the things about the Bobcats that grabbed my attention. Whilst winning is important, i dont mind walking away from a stadium (in any sport) knowing your team has given it everything, and as long as things improve year on year (within reason obviously) i dont see any reason not to be positive. You guys should have a nosey on some other NBA board, the Raptors would be commiting suicide if they were in the Bobcats shoes

Charlotte has a couple of good players on the roster to build with and a bunch of garbage (more than some fans will admit). All in all, the next two summers are going to be make-or-break for the team and will likely determine their ceiling for the next five years.

We're in the process of a steady rebuild. Its important to be patient. What many of us point to as comparison is the rebuilding process that OKC went through a few years back. Even with Durant and Westbrook they struggled for two years, then after adding Harden, Ibaka, and Green, plus with Durant and Westbrook's development, they became the NBA power they are today. We are hoping for similar results here. While MKG won't ever be a Kevin Durant type player, Kemba certainly is showing signs of being a fringe All-Star type player. If we see development from Biyombo, and continue to draft well and make smart free agent signings, we could be potentially competing for the playoffs in two years. Right now, just accept we are going to lose on most nights.

As for the franchise itself, they are caught between a lot of divided opinions. Many fans haven't gotten over the Hornets departure, and when you add some of the mistakes Bob Johnson (the original owner) made, the team leaves a sour taste in others mouths. There's a chance we will be rebranded as the Hornets, an idea I'm not against, but I do have some mixed feelings, specifically regarding the group that has headed the movement.

One of the biggest issues are the TV rights. Unless you have certain TV providers, namely Direct TV or Comcast, you can't see the games in certain areas. Ironically, Time Warner Cable (the arena's sponsor) does not broadcast the games state wide, which forces many of us to watch games on low-bit internet streams. Hopefully you have a provider that shows the games.

I meant in reference to last year and many over there still think the Raptors have a shot at the playoffs (an idea i do not share, and kinda wish they would take a leaf out of the Bobcats book in reguard to starting over). In terms of performance, ive watched the last game the Bobcats played and id rather watch that than a load of 'vets' take stupid shots and keep the rookies on the bench.

As for being able to watch it, im in the UK and we finally got live NBA matches last month (a whole 1 a week, with the occasional double) on a sunday. Problem is its Miami @ team A, Lakers @ Team B, with the occasional Clippers and Knicks, but i download the games the next day and watch them in pretty darn good quality on the TV via the PC.

I kinda like the Bobcats name though. New and fresh team with a fresh name. i look back with the old rose tinted glasses on at the Hornets, but now i just think of New Orleans, so thats a bit meh to me.
