The thing with pekovic is his game doesn't rely on athleticism..he has an old man type game so even when h'es like 32-33 he can still contribute pretty well

I'd say longer than that. I don't see why he can't be productive @ 35 and 36. 30 to 34 is still a player's prime. This isn't the NFL. Good basketball players can last awhile.

Pekovic just turned 27 in January, so he was basically 26 when the season started and has only banged around the NBA for 3 years. Lots of tread left on those tires. Milsap and Jefferson, two names of big men mentioned on here, are a year older and both have had injuries. Besides, Pekovic's P&R game compliments Kemba so well. Pair him with MKG and Bennett at the 4, and their athleticism make up for any lacking in Pekovic. It's probably a pipe dream, but if we have the $$ and ability to land him, we should, IMO. A 27 year old, 7-foot true center averaging 16/9 is deserving of near max money.

The thing I like most about Pekovich, besides his classic back to the basket game, is that he is a hoss. Unless Biz grows or dramatically improves lower body strength, he's gonna continue get bullied bodying up bigger C's. Pek can guard the bigs on D and you can throw it into Pek in the post on offense. Biz can play the complementary weakside role that he's best suited for.

Pekovich reeks of treadmill to me. There is no part of his game that is dominant. He's an above average C and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. He's not a piece that's going to put you over the top.

David Wear is an above average PF and is on 10 mil a year in Indiana. I would take an above average C as right now we have Diop who doesn't even make the list of worst in the league!
