Between the bring back the buzz crew and the bandwagon fans at our games I can't imagine the heckling being much worse than what you'd face at the average home game
I accepted an invite to the Bobcats-Wizards game (in DC) this week. This will be my first time as away team fan in any sport; the potential tidal-wave of brutal Wizard heckling (pending a blowout loss similar to this one) should make the trip...interesting...but I guess this is what separates the real fans from the soft ones. Any other brave Bobcat fans watch a game in enemy territory? Please share your stories.
On a lighter note: I have been implored by accompanying friends (apparently not very bright ones) to partake in pregame activities similar to that of a Willy Nelson concert...what could possibly go wrong?![]()

I went to a Knicks-Cats game here in New York last season and it was fun. The Cats actually beat the Knicks and the Knicks fans were so pissed off. It was really fun cheering for the away team, especially when they were winning. I had a good experience attending the Galaxy vs. Red Bulls MLS game a couple of years ago where I cheered for the LA Galaxy in Red Bulls new arena, while the Red Bulls fans were bashing me until the Galaxy were winning and then they just shut up.

Went to the Heat Bobcats game last April when I was visiting a buddy down in Miami. The season was a total lost cause at that point, so I really didn't pull for either (that and we had 2-3 drinks per quarter), I just wanted 25 points from Kemba and to see some wow shit from LeBron. Bitch Wade didn't play that day, but we still lost by 20+
Don't really remember much from the second half.
STARTING AT FOOOORWARD...6'8"..Tyr......wait...Dom..who the fuck?
Never been to a 'Cats away game, but I have been to a lot of other arenas for NBA games. Knicks fans will heckle opposing fans (often with profanity), but nothing serious and I guess that's part of their "charm." Nets fans are completely indifferent, although this was before the move to Brooklyn and their fans started thinking they were part of the NBA "elite." Lakers fans are usually so caught up with the "event" of being seen at a Lakers game that they ignore you completely. Magic fans are really nice and (IMO) have by far the best arena, so that's a trip worth taking. Never been to a Heat game, but I've been to their arena for another event and it's nice (I actually like ours better, but I know a lot of people disagree). Some of their concourses are lit up in red light which I find tacky, but whatever. Concourses tend to be crowded too since a lot of their concessions are free-standing structures.
Honestly, I don't worry about being treated badly by home fans at NBA games. If I'm wearing the visitors' jersey at NFL games? Yeah, that can get dicey at times, but it's not something with which I'm concerned for NBA games.
i go to the bobcats pistons game every year and usually sit behind the bobcats bench area and pistons fans always look at me weird and say YOURE A BOBCATS FAN!?!?!? why?...annoying as hell but when we beat em last time i got the last laugh haha
Do the home games vs. Lakers & Knicks count?
Been to several WFU BBall away games over the years and brought many opposing fans to home WFU games over the last 20+ years - when you travel in groups like that, you end up all the ways their team had a bad night if your guys win and self immolating when your guys lose - that's my experience although YMMV.
