This really doesn't bother me. It's not like the Celtics are Notre Dame. I don't see random Irish people in the area eschewing their local loyalties just because they're called "Celtics." The Boston fans in CLT that will root for the Celtics were going to come to the game anyway. Those people root for the Celtics because they have awful taste in favorite basketball teams, not because they're Irish.

I think they did this a few years ago, they had Irish dancers at halftime, beer specials, Jig competition, all that jazz. As long as Charlotte is a town of transplants, Boston and NY will always have an advantage, why not make as much money off it as you can?
