Wouldnt most of you rather be in the position you are in compared to say the Raptors or Suns? Im also a Raps fan, but good god are they horrific. Give me the Bobcats position or the Raps, and i know which id choose. How Casey is getting anything out of them i do not know. (On the other hand, the Cats have a major plus in they have a FO that at least partially know what they are doing)
The name change should happen and I think it will. I like Shabazz more than McLemore, though I think both will be great players. I just think Shabazz gives us great flexibility if we wanted to do some small ball. Shabazz could play SF and we could slide MKG to PF at those times. I like the idea of Olynyk at #13, but I like Plumlee a tad more. I just worry about Olynyk's lack of consistency over his career. Can he continue to progress at the NBA level? I also worry about his lack of competition.
I agree with you Emmacat. Not really that big of a fan of Dunlap as well. I think the only players on our team that are untouchable are Kemba & MKG so far. The first move I would like to do is trade Biz while he still has "potential" and see what we can get for him. I'm sure it's plently of teams like the heat (title contending) that need a player like Biz to block shots & rebound. Biz would be better with more talented players on his team honestly. You can say that about almost every player but it really stands out for Biz.
We will also continue to draft good. I love Rich Cho he is the best thing to ever happen to our franchise. I have faith that he will have another good draft for us and that'll be 3 straight. With all these PER & EFF stats nowadays it's hard not to draft good anyways!
As far as trading goes, let's make a trade so we can open up whatever position we're drafting. Like if we draft either Muhammad or McLemore this year I would like to see us drop BG or Hendo. We need a big man BAD. Our big man are terrible except Byron. Worst front court i've ever seen.
Honestly I love MKG, but for the next 2 drafts, we need to draft someone BETTER than MKG was his rookie year. We all know MKG will be good, but he did not pan out the way we liked him too, I expected him to be a big impact player and that's mainly because of how terrible of a shooter he is and the lack of talent on our team. Guys like McLemore or Muhammad can go off the dribble with Kemba and that would help us out a lot.
What is the love affair with Hansbrough. We dont need and average forward just becouse he went to UNC!
As far as MKG goes, I don't know what people expect from him! He is 19 years old and his forte is defense and hustle. He is never going to be a 18-20 ppg player. He is more like a 13-15 ppg, 7 rpg, and 3 apg. His main role will be a jack of all trades and master of none type. He is a pesky defender and a hard worker. I love Kemba, but I see MKG as the future leader of this team. He will lead by example and encourage those around him to get better. We need a lights-out scorer and I think we will get that player in this draft with either Shabazz (who I dont think anyone in the 2012 draft can compare to his skill-set) or McLemore (who reminds me a lot of Bradley Beal). I still think MKG was the right pick for us as there is no one in this draft that I look at that can measure up to his defense. Give me a young core of Kemba, MKG, and Shabazz/McLemore and I think we are on the right path. If we can add a big man through free agency, then I am all about that!
