I'm not into the Dragon's. Kinda cheesy. IMO. Charlotte flight is actually growing on me. With MJ owning the team now. I'd still want the Hornets.

Can't do Dragons...makes it look like we are affiliated in some way with our Minor League Baseball team the Knights. The headlines write themselves: Even the Knights could slay the Dragons.

I still can't see them changing to anything other than Hornets... If they wanted any of those other names, they could have easily done this survey at any point since MJ took over the team.

It's interesting that they are bringing up names that they most likely own all the copyrights to. ( I assume during the original naming of the franchise that the NBA locked up all the legal rights to those names back then and still owns them). That would indicate the desire for a quick change.

I guess they have been working on designs, logos, etc for all those names since last season.

I wonder if the only conclusive thing from the first survey was a dislike for the Bobcats name. We'll see what happens, but that survey was pretty direct in what it was going for.

They said originally there were to be two surveys - one for STH and a second for a broader audience (my recount of the original should not be held word for word but that was the gist). This seems like they are doing what they said they would.

I could have easily missed them saying there'd be two surveys for STH, but I don't remember that being the case. Either way, this did get a little more interesting.
