Default The Charlotte Bobcats have a much brighter future than these teams

I was watching the Sixers the other night and I thought to myself that I would hate for the Bobcats to be in that team's situation. They've just traded away Vucevic, Iguodala, Harkless and a 1st round pick for an injured temperamental Bynum who is in the last year of his contract, hasn't played a game all season and expects a max deal. Their situation sucks a fat one.

I would much rather have the Bobcats situation than the Sixers. We have youth, picks, once we shed Diop, Gordon, Tyrus we will have significant cap space and we have multiple first round picks in upcoming years. Our future is much more brighter than theirs.

Which team(s) do YOU think are in a clearly worse situation from a roster/cap space standpoint than the Bobcats?

As ive stated a few times, i am a fan of Both the Raptors and the Bobcats. Raptors slightly edge it due to a few reasons but im very fond of both. But i would happily swap places with the Cats at the moment. The Raps have no cap room, such poor team chemistry, rubbish efficency, the biggest halkfwit walking the earth as GM and no picks. To top it all off they are no wconsidering offering Gay an extension which means even less cap room. Biggest problem being, we are still a million miles from the playoffs

yea they are in purgatory but I won't say our situation is better until we have pieces that show our ceiling is above purgatory level. we're still barely climbing out of "worst team of all time" territory. we have a long way to go until we have a core that even has the potential to one day be purgatory level let alone above it. dont discount Higgins ability to step in and **** up everything. that moron is still Chos boss

Suns have a pretty bleek future, same goes for the raptors....no cap space....at best an 8th seed team....overrated chucker rudy gay whos making a max contract and shooting 39% for 19 ppg since he's gotten there....our future isn't as bleek as these 2 i'd like to think...maybe even sacramento could have a worse future...

Yep I was just debating this with my friends yesterday, they say the sixers have Jrue Holiday thought. I countered that by saying we have Kemba Walker. Wasn't much more to be said after that haha.

Sixers are definitely in a similar place to where this team was about 2 years ago: Disciplinarian coach who wants to win now, coming off a ho hum playoff appearance, now everything's about to come apart. They don't seem to have as many awful contracts as the Bobcats did and they have some at least decent assets, so they will probably fare a little better (aka won't become worst of all time), although the Bynum situation really screwed them. I would say they are having the worst season of any team, based on expectations and actual performance.

There are some other teams in the East who appear to be in the proverbial treadmill situation: Milwaukee (not really sure what direction that team is trying to take), Toronto, and the Wizards (if John Wall had been healthy all season). Out West, Sacramento is suffering from terrible ownership, Phoenix seems like a mess, Minnesota might have badly misplayed their assets, and in my opinion, New Orleans has made some really stupid moves but lucked into Anthony Davis. I'm not ready to say Charlotte is in a better situation than any of those teams

    1. Because any of them could make an unexpected, but not too far fectched, leap
    2. The draft is a bitch

But yeah, hopefully we will blow by all those teams in a year or two because at least our team has a straight forward plan.

Edit: Forgot to say, I think Brooklyn is likely to be terrible pretty soon. Hate the way they put that team together.

Add DeRozen into that too. Amir is immense, Val is coming along very nicely, the rest i wouldnt swap you for a pack of bubblegum

Yea, the 76ers totally had the Bynum deal blow up in their face. Outside of Jrue Holiday, what respectable option do they have? Turner was supposed to be a main option, but is so inconsistent. I actually really like Spencer Hawes, though I think he is more of a stretch four than a traditional center. I wouldn't mind acquiring him somehow.

I would say Val has been a disappointment the year, I expected big things. I reckon it might just be that he has to adjust to the NBA right now and get bigger, he's always getting himself into could trouble

Actually, hes done very well for his first year and how the team has played. There was only him, Amir and Ed Davies who could defend until recently.
