I've always love gow, but 3 was just such a letdown storywise. I mean, WTF, the final boss battle of an "epic" trilogy is a giant beetle that could glitch on you and have you spend 30 minutes defeating it?!?! The MP was vastly improved over 1 and 2 though.
I'm still on the fence; I think the campaign will return to classic gow roots, but MP looks meh. Eventually I'll get it but I'm loving Tomb Raider right now and the king of all games, Bioshock Infinite (!!!!) comes out the week after gow, so I'll prob just let my buddy get gears and we'll split screen co-op it when it comes out and I'll get it used on the cheap a month or so later.

Actually really like it. Getting killed in some reviews, but mostly it's haters whining that it "ain't like Gears 1...boo hoo hoo". Love the new button mapping: Y to switch weapons, LB for grenades...much more natural than using the D pad. Also like being able to drop from edges...that is a long time coming for this Gears vet.
Also love Overrun and the Horde variation, Survival. Much better than Gears 2 Horde, IMO. Much more teamwork involved and much less lone-wolfing.
Haven't touched campaign yet, but I dig it...except for the shortage of maps. 4 maps for regular versus, 4 for Overrun? That's lame.
