Are terrible. This needs to be addressed asap we can't even give this guy the ball on offense.
Twan's Kin (03-15-2013)
you are correct, sir.
we could have had vucevic with that pick. or kenneth faried
I cannot stand watching him play anymore its driving me crazy. Something needs to happen with him quick man. We literally give him the ball on offense and all he does is pass the ball back he is useless.
I really dont like drafting guys that need to improve / on potential in the lotto.
For a big he needs to have atleast one of these 2 characteristics. You can throw in size here but im not as big on that as people can clearly excel without being x height / size.
1) Great offensive skill set
2) Great rebounder and defender
Preferably both but that is seriously hard to find. Ideally one of those with the other being decent.
I like to know what im getting in a player.
If you compare Okafor to Howard. Howard is now arguably the best (some say he isn't, I dont want to get into that though) center in the league at the moment. He had a far less polished offensive game than Okafor, and Okafor was regarded as an excellent prospect with solid post moves, an excellent shot blocker and a good rebounder. But Howard moved past Okafor while Okafor mainly stayed at the same skill level. Potential.
If you look at them now, Okafor is putting up 10/10, while Howard has become an absolute beast. That's why so many teams take that risk. To have that premier athletic big man. Another example is Bynum. Without the injuries would of been excellent as a Center and in discussion as the best Center in the NBA against Howard. Blake Griffin I guess you can also add to the discussion, however he was a force in college, but never had the real polish others had.
Time and time again we see the GMs fall into the trap of drafting these athletic specimens who rely on their athleticism to score, then enter the NBA where a lot of these guys are athletes and they struggle due to the lack of polish in their offensive game. But you can understand why. Big men can change the whole outlook of a team. It was what would of turned the Blazers into a Championship contender with a healthy Oden. It was what helped the Spurs to 3 championship titles with Timmy Duncan, the big fundamental. It was what would of helped the Bucks to become playoff contenders with a healthy Bogut (something he never managed to do, and when he did he shone)
There's a huge list of those who have come into the league and failed as these tantalizing athletic big men with excellent potential, but who will unlikely or if ever reach their potential.
Tyson Chandler (Absolute beast in HS. Came to NBA and has basically become a pure stopper while dunking off alley-oops)
Tyrus Thomas traded for LaMarcus Aldridge
List goes on and on and on
So even though GMs know the risks, they still take it. Simply because to have a big man who is ELITE on both the offensive and defensive end can take you to the next level.

Proud Australian Bobcats Fan!!!
howard wasnt a great shotbocker and rebounder in college?
not sure if id call Okafur anything more than average on offense in college. he was known for his defense primarily if my memory serves me right.
Solution: CUT OFF HIS HANDS!
And then usher in the rise of stumpy!
Spoiler: in season 3 he gets a hook hand, changing the game forever.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
