It would be nice if we had one of the "spoil your fan" owners of the world...but we don't...you or I don't have control over that being or not being the case; the downside of being a sports fan. MH earned the money to buy the team, I don't. It's unfortunate that by these uncontrollable forces, we have the absolute thriftiest front office in the NBA: no luxury tax, and a no name coach at Wal-Mart price. So if I'm wrong, here are the only other reasonable explanations for the hire.
1) He was the best player development coach on the market
2) As "a friend of a friend" has informed a BCP poster, Cho hand-picked, or had a hand in picking a coach that matched his vision.
3) The front office wanted credit for finding a diamond in the rough for the cheaper price the way Jim Bus thought he would get that in hiring what's his face over Phil Jackson...if the cheaper choice panned out positively, MJ and his old teammate would be heralded as front office geniuses and we would all kiss MJ's butt the way he so yearned everyone doing in his petty "I'm better than you" hall of fame speech.
