Hendo is getting just over $3 million this year so i think if we offered him 5/6 he would accept

hendo has been a stud lately....looks like he wants to get paid....
if he can play like this then maybe shelling out some cahs wouldnt be too bad. though not 11 mil
Just for comparison sake:
Mystery Player (Rookie Scale years, rounded)
Season 1: 15 ppg, 3 reb, 3 ast
Season 2: 17 ppg, 3 reb, 3 ast
Season 3: 21 ppg, 3 reb 4 ast
Season 4: 19 ppg, 3 reb, 3 ast
Season 5: 21 ppg, 4 reb, 3 ast (QO, year)
This mystery player went on to sign a 5 year $55 million contract (what GM-in-Training is suggesting Hendo will get)
Now Henderson's Numbers (Rounded)
Season 1: 3 ppg, 1 reb, 0.3 ast
Season 2: 10 ppg, 3 reb, 2 ast
Season 3: 15 ppg, 4 reb, 2 ast
Season 4: 15 ppg, 4 reb, 2 ast
The mystery player is current Bobcat, Ben Gordon. Gordon went on to average 1-3 points lower than Hendo's current level of 15 and averaged around 1 reb and 1 ast less than Hendo's current level with his three years in Detroit. People have blasted Dumars for the Gordon contract. So tell me again why someone is going to throw $11,000,000 at Henderson? Even in this day in time with the NBA's absurd contracts, no one is going to give Henderson that contract when he has not proven the consistency that Ben Gordon showed in his early years. Does Henderson have a better skill set than BG? I think the proof is in the numbers.

Sir, this is your opinion and thats cool..but this post is so asinine.. and then you have the nerve to have an opening sentence filled with bravado. Nobody is going to pay him that type of money, just wont happen. He averages 15 pts a game on a losing team with not many scoring options..all of this is factored in. Everyone knows that contributions on a bad team are misleading(see stats of 2012 compared to 2013 for Kris Humphries). I believe he will remain on the team, for about 5-6mil tops. He wants to be a solution for this team, wants to remain here. You talked about OJ Mayo overvaluing himself.. Mayo has similar season stats to Gerald (a pinch better even), is on a playoff bound team with a superstar and only gets 4mil a year but you think Gerald Henderson is worth 7-8 million more than him? Ok..

" It's rare i listen to people who never been in my position, a caterpillar can't relate to what an eagle envisions"
those numbers are very misleading for the simply fact. you cant just throw up stats and think thats the full story . gordon starting pg for his first 4 years was kirk hinrich and hinrich is a pass first pg , 2nd do you know gordons back up guards were at the time ? duhon(defensive point) and larry hughes(washed up journey man), 3rd the starting front court he played with was chandler, ben wallace, tyrus, noah, and brad miller, 4th he avg 15 field goal attempts during his bulls stint. four of the big men i named were all defensive bigs with the exception of brad miller(played 1 year) who is one of the best passing big's ever (ben gordons best year was w/brad).
now lets compare teams hendo first 2 years by default he sat behind jackson and wallace. jackson & wallace both played almost 40 min an season , so there was no mins for hendo, 3rd year hendo was a starter but for the worst team in the nba not to mention this is his basically his soph yr because he didnt get any min his first year. in hendo's first full year starting he avg 15 pts on 45% shooting which is pretty good for 33 min. this is hendo's 2nd full year of starting , his has a score first pg, an shoot first pf in mullens, an score first backup in gordon, and a score first 6th man in sessions w the worst frontcourt in the nba . hendo had to play within the offense flow and find his shot while they was playing an 5 guard rotation(taylor included), so naturally it would be hard for any scorer to get off in this offensive. only with sessions going down and the emergence of mcroberts gave hendo extra mins and extra shoots. hendo is avg 15 pts 4 reb with a 45% fg and 38 3pt % in only wait for it......... a whopping 30 min , while avg only a whopping 12 fg attempts, that is amazing.
now i could throw out batums ok contract year that earned him 11 mil, or fields sucky year that earned him 6 mil a year but i've done that already and at this point ppl want to believe whatever they want despite how much sense i make with stats.
not only your comparing gordon vs hendo ,but their in two different free agency classes , this is one of the weakest draft classes and free agency classes in a decade so guess what that means? oh im a gm and i dont like the guards in the draft or i dont like the free agent crop so i may have to overpay for any good or decent starter . im not saying hendo will be over paid because i think he's worth every penny but you gotta put in consideration that he has a prototypical sg body type(size alone can earn you a couple millions, ask kwame), good defender, could avg 7-8 freethrow attempts a gm,very athletic, maybe the best mid in the nba, good 3 pointer, post game, an good facilitator, and rebounder. gordon may be able to do 3 out of the 9 categories i just named .
also i really hate when ppl say he should avg more on a bad team and im like what? these are not high school coaches these are professional coaches who know how to take players out of a game and it makes it maybe ,but just maybe a little easier when your team sucks. its easier to game plan against a good player on a bad team , not the other way around. perfect example: ben gordon avg about 18 wit the bulls which was a borderline playoff team but he went to detroit which was an horrible team and his numbers reflected meaning teams game planned against him , so thats backwards logic.
now hendo is avg 18 pts in the past 2 months(29 gms) with april to go. if flip murray, ,tyrus thomas,charlie-v, linsanity , earl boykins, chris anderson, eric dampier, and a long list of other short stint performances can earn these players huge contracts , i know hendo is getting 10 mil and he's dropping serious numbers against playoff teams and he's only 25.
i didnt really want to play the stat game but imma throw this out there anyway. affalo was an restricted 25 yr old free agent with denver and avg 33 min and 12.9 points, his contract 5 yrs 43 mil .hendo stats surpasses aarons in every category except 3% and hendo avg 3 min less ....go figure
