Steven Adams from Pitt has declared to the NBA Draft according to Andy Katz. He averaged 7.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 2 BPG. Really surprised that he would declare this year, he I don't see him on any mock drafts. Had potential to be a lottery pick next year with added strength. Wouldn't mind seeing the Bobcats trade for a 2nd rounder to pick him up.
He has prototypical modern big man physical tools. Right around 7 feet with what appears to be good length and a solid frame. High motor and a pretty good athlete as well. Keep an eye on him because he could become a factor for our Portland pick (if we get it)
Does anyone else think Adams sounds similar to Joe Alexander? Not that I think his career will be that bad but their strengths and weaknesses are similar.

I'm very surprised to hear he has declared, but I guess the level of prospect in this draft has influenced his decision.
If you can get a Centre with genuine size/length/strength, athleticism and motor with a pick in the teens then I think you pull the trigger more often than not. So if we trade down or get Portland's pick then we could certainly do worse than rolling the dice on someone like Adams.
reminds me of when larry bird was drafted a year early. kinda (certainly not by player standpoint) a similar situation. guy could go top 10 next year so why not pick him up at 15-16 this year. tough to pass on him for any team with those picks.
