Have those guys had more success at this point in their careers? Of course, they've played a lot longer than Kemba. Did you think Lawson was a top 10 PG when he was averaging 11.7 points, 4.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1 steal his second year? What about when Parker averaged 15.5 points, 5.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and .9 steals? Jennings hit for 16.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals his second year, and only shot 39%!
Lets see, Kemba is way ahead of them at 17.4 points, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 2 steals in his second year. In fact, the first two didn't even average over 17 points until their 4th and 5th years respectively. We all know Nash took many years to develop. And as hard as Kemba works, those numbers will keep going up as he gets more confidence, experience, and respect from the refs.
Honestly, Kemba is a better ball handler than everyone on that list except Chris Paul and Irving. Yes I am making that bold statement, because he is a magician with the ball, I've seen him make enough incredible dribble moves with such control and creativity that is ahead of the others. Maybe his decision making isn't as good yet, but ability and talent, he's top notch with that skill. And he may not have the athleticism of a few of those PGs, but I say he is quicker and faster than all except maybe Lawson.
By the time Kemba hits his prime in about 5 more years of development, I'd think he is top 6-7, but who am I to limit him?
I mean, patience? The guy is just starting out, he's going to get better, by a lot.
