Go Panthers, Go Bobcats, Go Hurricanes - War Damn Eagle
hate to say it but I had to rate Martin a good bit lower than Dell and Steph. he just makes too many mistakes and it can get distracting
To me, it adds to the humor of the broadcast. Towards the end of the year, it was getting worse, I admit but he is the voice of the NBA in Charlotte since forever and I frankly love the guy.
Granted from an objective POV, Martin would grade pretty damn bad, but I still think he, Dell and Steph make a great team and enhance the viewing experience.
"The Charlotte Hornets name has been a mainstay throughout the region for many years, and we are excited to announce our intention to re-establish this historic brand. We believe that its return will galvanize our fan base by unifying our loyal Bobcats fans with those who have strong memories of our city's NBA predecessor." MJ, 5-21-13
I took the survey thinking at some point I would get to let them know that "I can't frickin see any of the games!!!" but that question was never asked. It's like they have no idea, which I am sure they don't.
To me, Steve Martin represents Charlotte NBA basketball unlike any other. Dell is a very close second. As much as I loved Gil & Steve, I would not change our current crew (in front or behind the camera) for anything.
