if it were up to me, i wouldn't have fired him or i would hire a very green nba coach. in other words, start tanking for 2014 now.
Idk. I read that Phil was itching to get back in coaching and now this. Makes you go hmmmm. Idk who would want to come here now. Better not be a MJ crony.

I like Stan Van Gundy as long as he's learned a bit from not being such a hard ass. He's a good coach with a good scheme who has played young guys before. Alvin gentry has never really had any success on the NBA level, so I don't know about him. It will NOT be Brian Shaw after the interview he did a couple months ago pretty much putting down the franchise.
Tyrus: "Ooh yeah coach, you're hot when you're angry. Yell my name again"
Gordon: "Ready thyself, Coach"
Mully: "I think she puuurty"
Biz: "Who wants to sex Biyombo" (inspired by the legend: http://tagthisphilly.com/2011/06/23/...o-sex-mutombo/)
But I think it has to be someone with a lot of NBA experience. College coaches don't translate well, it has to be someone who understands the personalities of NBA players and what motivates them. I'd say no to Byron Scott, as he seems to wear out his welcome real quick. Plus, Cleveland's defense was pretty horrible this year as well, as even the Bobcats carved up their d in the finale.
Maybe Gentry, Mo Cheeks, Terry Porter, or convince Bird to come out of retirement. I guess we'll see who starts to line up.
Hell no to SVG, hell no to Doug Collins, Hell no to Byron.. I like Avery Johnson. Highly respected, great character. He was a successful PG and would be tremendous in Kemba Walker's growth. Also, he is cut from that Coach Pop cloth, is a players coach and would attract free agents. He was unfairly fired in Brooklyn(he was the NBA Coach of The Month a month before he was fired..smh). I really think he is a coach that can get this team on the right track..
But other guys I like are Nate McMillan, Brian Shaw and Maurice Cheeks.

I want a guy that knows fundamental basketball. Someone who's teams play smart (playing to their strengths, clearly defined roles, high bball IQ, high % shots etc) and hard.
