@Chris_Broussard: Sources: CP3 & D12 hope to team up next season. Have been texting back & forth to figure it out. Story up soon on http://t.co/IRyv1niwQm
I know this is really a long shot but we actually have somewhat of a pitch to make. Clifford and Ewing could sway Dwight our way and CP3 is from NC and loves the city of Charlotte.
Is it at all possible? Do you guys think we'll even make the offer?

I don't see this happening and I don't see why we would want the Dwight Howard circus here. We have a developing young stud of a PG in Walker. Yes Paul may be the best in the game, but I am on the fence about spending $20 million plus when we already have Walker.
Atlanta and Dallas are about the only two options where they could both land on the same team. Houston would not have the cap to sign both and would have to do a sign and trade for Paul, as the Lakers are above the tax line and would not be able to complete a sign and trade. What would Houston send to the Clippers that would warrant trading Paul to them?
Not sure about Dallas having the room. They are trying to give away their 1st round pick this year (or draft a Euro who stays in Europe) so they don't add any salary so they can make a run at Dwight by himself. They would have to give away several other players to make room to TRY and get Paul.
Atlanta might be a possibility.
As far as we go, there will be very few teams that can clear enough room to add both guys. Amnestying Tyrus and dealing Gordon (along with a couple of smaller moves) would give us the space. I hear everyone on not wanting Dwight and already having Kemba but if getting these 2 guys is any possibility at all, we have to explore it.

if paul and howard wanted to play with harden in houston, they could do it.
We don't have the cap room to sign them both to Max Contracts.
Even if we renounce Hendo + Mully & Amnesty Tyrus we would only have about 21 Million in cap space when you factor in the cap hold for #4 pick.
We would have to trade some players to make it work.
The Ben Gordon trade is what keeps us from having the room needed to keep our current core together and have enough cap room to sign both outright.
Houston is the best possible destination if they want to play together.
However, if we can make a run at both without going overboard I say we do it but it is really unlikely.
cba related question. if you are re-signing a current player to a large deal, can you go over the cap or are you bound by the cap.
if so what is stopping paul and howard (or any free agent) from signing a 1 yr deal to the rockets (or whatever team) for a minimal contract. play half a year and then sign a max deal extension allowing the team to go into the luxury cap?
Im almost certain that Houston will be their destination...
