I did (still sort of do) think he was overrated as well. Don't see a lot of the Clips but I was semi impressed with his midrange game when he played against us. Can't argue with his advanced stats though...they're pretty darn good.
You also have to look at opportunity. Kanter (using your 2 examples) is probably not ever going to happen and Cousins is a risk on his own because of all the issues we've discussed. The only negative I've read is recently where he & CP supposedly classhed some on their idea of "focal point" on offense, basically touches.
Stellar stats, locked in for 4 more years (although at a max deal) and easily an integral part of a strong contender (definitely not a sure #1 option tho) and OBTAINABLE by us...which I think is a huge part...has to make it a consideration.
Maybe we could keep out the POR pick, but I was looking at worst case.
