Dude's nasty. On a team with Trey Burke and Hardaway Jr. and he was still the best NBA prospect? Going to be exciting to see him play this year.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he begins to move into top-5 territory. Dude's a freak of an athlete and an excellent offensive threat. Plays great D too.
All this talk about future... drafting Wiggins, Parker, Randle, etc... It has me thinking about the other guys in a ridiculously deep draft. My favorites right now are GR3 and Noah Vonleh, who's going to be PF at IU this coming season. 6'9", 7'4" wingspan, huge potential, incredible dunker.
For a moment, disregard Wiggins, Parker, Gordon, Smart, and Randle. The preseason top 5, as it were. Who do you think are prospects we could get flying under the radar?
Also going to be interesting to see how Willie Cauley-Stein plays in his next season at UK... probably the top-ranked center in the draft, and unless the Big Al rumors are true, we need depth there. But right now, if we had the DET pick at 9, I'd hope for GR3 to still be there, and I'd go for Vonleh or WCS with the PDX pick.
Just, if we're not getting Big Al, I really want to think about the future, and there's so much talent in the draft next year that I think we're overlooking some major players.
I think Joel Emblid and Dakari Johnson will both end up up ranked ahead of Cauley-Stein before the draft rolls around imo. My 3 favorites for our picks right now are any combination of Gordon/Walker,Emblid/Johnson,and Young/Seldon. If we can land 3 of those guys i'd be super stoked!
