Kemba is def a play maker.
I havent watched much games but I would bet he is not being used properly.
We def need to upgrade the SG position in nxt years draft.
From my view several hundred feet away there seems to be an obvious cut our wings can make through the lane at any time and get someone an easy assist. Only Taylor sporadically does so. Normally, our wings (esp. GhJr) receive the ball and then go in 1:1 mode and in Hendo's case, it leads to these whacky Dirk Bryant one-footed-twist-a-fadeaways.
Note that one thing is different when the offense is running through McBob, he has the benefit of Kemba moving w/out the ball.

to JGib I don't argue that the 4 guards are playing poorly right now. I'm chalking Kemba's relatively slow start (still our best player) to a 3rd coach/3rd offensive scheme in 3 years. I also think he's suffering from some either over-coaching or just plain bad coaching. His minutes are a mess, random and at the wrong times. I understand he needs rest and you can't play him 48 minutes a night especially this early, but he sits for the majority of every 4th quarter then gets thrown in with sessions for the last 4 minutes expected to win games for us. And IMO its just impossible to play well like that.
Hendo is warming up and Taylor will be fine as well.
My biggest beef with the guards right now is Sessions. I like him a lot and think hes actually could be the 6th man some of you want Kemba to be. He's just so inefficient on the floor and I can't remember the last time he looked for another player first. I'm guessing he has some sort of green light to attack but when he's on the court and gets the ball, he's the last person touching it on that possession. I don't have any stats to back up my negative feelings toward Sessions right now, because hes our leading scorer at the moment and has a decent FG%, but to me when he's in the game it seems to trend positively for the opponent.

I still don't think he can be the best player on a championship squad, and you tailor your lineup to how they fit around your franchise guy. Maybe that calls for Kemba to start the game off on the court, or maybe it calls for him to get his minutes staggered a bit. Either way, so be it, but there's no convincing me he wouldn't be good at it, should the situation call for it.
I'm going to explain what I mean by 6th man. Kemba is not a elite scorer ,only if he was avg 22+ then I would consider him a starting combo point, but he hovers around 17-18 mark which good but not starting worthy for a score 1st point. Kemba has great break down capabilities but its usually for scoring purposes and not for finding teammates. He's nowhere as bad a sessions but he doesn't get the team involved . I would rather for Kemba to avg 15-8 ,than 17-4 .I've said this for 2 years straight that Kemba needs his own unit where he can be the focal point of the offense.

Even though we are struggling right now , I still feel we have the top 5 guard rotation in the league . It's the beginning of the season, and we still have to get acclimated to Al , so there may be some more growing pains. I still feel we are in a better position than majority of the east teams.
for example, we can look at avg speed, distance traveled per game, and distance per 48 minutes, using only players who average at least 20 minutes per game.
kemba and hendo go the furthest per game, but that is heavily influenced by their minutes.
for average speed: MKG (18th out of 203), Taylor (34th), Hendo (51)
for distance per 48: MKG (30), Taylor (38 ), Hendo (62)
so you can interpret that data however you want, but i think it's clear that Hendo is probably not "running around like rip hamilton" and is not "the only player moving without the ball."

While looking at the chart I found something even more shocking ? Did you know Kemba was ranked 8th in the league in pull up jumper attempts and he was 3rd worst in the top 10 , behind Westbook and Wall or did you know that Henderson is 52nd in the whole lg for driving to the basket .It actually shows that Hendo is more effective shooting a jumper than going to the hole( he's actually pretty bad at driving) but It's only our 7th game so that can change.
