We bitch about McBob getting Zeller or Biz's minutes, but if we are honest with ourselves, when McBob is on the court he usually looks like one of the 2 best players on our squad.
At what point do we start to really think about him as part of our..... CORE
With the way he has been playing lately, the discussions that we had over the summer over who to sign between McBob or Mullens seem pretty ridiculous.

ive never complained for the exact reason you mentioned. since he got here, mcbob has always looked like one of the few real nba players on the squad? Is he still leading the team in assists?
I have championed mcbob over mully forever and I thought it wasn't even close. Just going by the eye test, you can tell that McBob is more skilled and valuable. Pretty funny that a player the magic wanted to literally ship off for nothing has become a real player for the team. Dont know if that reflects well on Cho, or bad on the team, maybe both?
I'd love to keep Mcbob around and at 2.5 mill a year he is one of the best bargains we have.
People wanted Mullens over McBob?
Please tell me I didn't say anything like that when I was drunk.
In Cho I Trust
He has never at any point looked like anything but a role player nor has he looked like a top 2 anything on the team.
I don't know how else to respond.
McBob is a role player & nothing more. He does some things good like passing for a big, being a secondary ball handler, and OK defense, but he's not great at nothing, so that's why he'll never be looked at as more than a role player. I like McBob though. I'm happy that we have him on our team, and in hindsight we have him at a bargain price, but the market for him wasn't high anyway
Placeholder for Zeller.

Not too hung up on labels like "core" and "pure". My personal opinion the point/forward is a GREAT tool to have and I'm happy to keep him right where he is until someone can outplay him. Zeller shouldn't be gifted anything; if he can come in and produce better then he can have the job. If/when that happens I still want him as the 6th/7th man.
So if you mean by "core" that I want to keep him and I won't just give him away as filler in a trade then sure...I have him there.

Sadly, I think part of the reason McRoberts looks so good to us is that we've always had so many semi-skilled basketball players or specialists that a guy who can do a little bit of everything looks like a bona fide star.
I do like him a lot on the team though.

SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
I'm in the same boat as spectre. I think Zeller is starting to show that he can do a lot of the same things McBob does and score even better. I think Zeller starting and McBob coming off the bench would be pretty good. McBob could tear up pick apart some second string guys.
I'm really curious if a second unit with McBob and Jimmer as our point would work. Let the offense run through Josh and allow Jimmer to run off screens to add a 3 point threat to our second unit.
If McRoberts keeps up his good play could he opt out of his contract this offseason? He's scheduled to make $2.7 mil next year, I would think he could get a better contract if he opts out. Wonder if the FO fields offers for him around trade deadline to see what kind of offers they could get for him. Zeller has been impressive as of late, if McRoberts is on the roster next season he'll have some tough competition to keep his starting job.
