Now this roster is young and has a lot of room it can improve. Not only that we have draft picks heading our way. We are finally getting rid of the last of our bad contracts so we'll have a lot of cap flexibility.
This is the perfect opportunity for us to make moves. While everyone else is dumping players it would be a good chance for us to pick up quality players.
Guys, just maybe the front office has acknowledge the fact that player development, while it's all good in theory, it's just not a strength for them. I mean who can we honestly say the Bobcats have developed into anything resembling a star player outside of Kemba?
We keep saying we need a star, and granted these guys in college right now are good, but do you all really have any confidence we can really develop and harness top level talent into that star go to guy? I don't. So I'm behind the franchise going the way they're going, and if we get a couple of good young talented guys to add to the rotation next season along with another key pickup in free agency we're on our way to being that consistent Top 4 seed in the east that Michael Jordan wants us to be.

The Current Charlotte Bobcats - 2004-2014 - Its Been Fun
The New Charlotte Hornets - 2014-Always - The way it always should have been...
I didn't agree with it at the time, esp. with Larry Brown as our coach. I especially didn't like it given the value we received and the way we went about it with Crash. Now tho I'll admit that I think we're in a better place.

That post contradicts itself a bit. Do we have good young players OR have we failed year after year with picks? I don't recall too many acquisitions of good young players through trades recently.
The draft picks we have "coming our way" are assuredly not going to be all that high so they will be guys that a role players or bench guys. We need more talent, less role players, bench guys. If we make the playoffs we give up our own pick so that's definitely not a positive. We have cap room but we are gonna have to pay the few young talented players we have so some of that cap space is already likely earmarked or set aside.
Making the playoffs and not being competitive against the top teams THIS SEASON (which is what will happen at best) will not garner us any respect. People will still laugh at our past and say we only made the playoffs cause the smarter franchises were tanking for talent; which sadly, is what appears to be happening.
