Default A team with a bright future

This is a team with a bright future.Okafor is a future All-Star. He\'ll be the Elton Brand of the Eastern Conference - a consistent 20-10 game every night. Raymond Felton should also emerge as an All-Star, as should Sean May if he can develop a few consistent low post moves. Primoz Brezec and Gerald Wallace are nice young players as well. They have gotten great play from Brevin Knight, who has turned himself into a crafty point guard. Knight is a real smart player and a great leader.I like what Bernie Bickerstaff has done with this team.Next summer, they will have another top draft pick to add to the rotation, as well as a lot of cap room to go after a couple of free agents. The future is bright

Thanks for stopping by, I agree with you on one thing. This upcoming summer is critical, with the draft and finally a full cap to spend toward free agency, This is the summer that the Bobcats have the best chance to jump from expansion to competitive.

Wow. This is really old lol.
I brought this thread up because of what I saw about Mek. Do you guys think he will ever live up to being the #2 pick right behing the great Superman Howard? I dont know if he will. He probably will be resigned and I am hoping we get the #1 pick in the draft so we can pair him with Beasley.

He can be good. He started out a 15 - 10 man, and then regressed. I dont know if he's capable of 20 - 10, but I wish like hell he was that good. He needs to have a little more "ooomph" and "I'm gonna kick your ass" attitude. If he had Zo's attitude, he could easily reach that 20 - 10 status. We need to bottle up Zo's attitude and have Mek drink it.

Hey, would Zo be interested in an Asst Coach job? I actually like his game and he has a pretty high BB IQ in my opinion.

Ha!! Good find. I too see Sean May as a future All Star...

While Mek won't be the eastern conference Elton Brand (he sure would look nice in the post with him though!!), he's a more than servicable player, I think. If he's commited to being here, and being the best player he can be, he should definitely be re-signed long term. I definitely think Mek is living up to his being drafted #2 in '04. The draft is a crapshoot for the most part anyway, and he's not even close to being a disaster such as #1 picks Olowokandi and Kwame Brown. Also, how stupid do you think Milwaukee and Atlanta feel for drafting Bogut and Marvin respectively ahead of Williams and Paul in '05? Neither Bogut nor Marvin have lived up to their picks when compared to the two PGs, and the PGs were drafted after, not before, but are integral parts of their teams. Basically, there's no need to try to compare Howard and Mek; Howard is a cut above them all, and I think Mek has done fine for himself.

While I don't think he could be a consistent 20-10 guy, I think with some solid big man coaching ( which he hasn't had since hes been here in my opinion ) he could be a 17-12 guy, or easily a 15-11 which ain't bad.

also, don't forget about the 2 blocks per game.
