    Default What could have been

    Chris Paul

Hindsight is 20/20. But looking back it looks like trading the #5 and #13 picks to move up high enough in the draft would have been the right thing to do. At this point it looks like Chris Paul is the runaway favorite to be the 2006 rookie of the year, and from his play on the court he very well may be a 7 or 8 year all-star before his career is over.

Since we\'re playing the what if game...

What if the Bobcats had passed on Felton with the fifth pick and instead drafted Channing Frye at 5 and May at 13. That would give you a solid 4 & 5 rotation for the next 10 years.

    What if...

The Bobcats took Channing Frye at #5 then snagged Hakim Warrick at #13.

That would give you Brezec/Frye in whatever combo at center
    Okafor/Ely at power forward
    Wallace/Warrick at Small Forward
    Rush at shooting guard
    Knight at the point.

This would have set up our front line nicely for the next few years, Of course our backcourt would have sucked as a result, but it\'ll be a lot easier to find backcourt help in free agency.

I guess its a good thing we got Felton instead of Channing Frye. Hindsight is a bitch. That's why you shouldn't tank on purpose. Never know how people are going to turn out.

And this season we would have been NO, trading away Paul to the bigger market and in the midst of making the decision to rebuild. The only thing we would have had in our favor over NO was we were near his hometown. At least we are ahead of the game in rebuilding though

What if the Charlotte Hornets hadn't traded Kobe Bryant on draft night for F'ing Vlade Divac and Anthony "ugliest FT shooter in NBA history" Mason
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

If we hadn't traded Kobe he would not have signed. He was holding out for Lakers so we at least got something, unless my memory is completely shot.

How about, what if Bismack made his foul shots tonight vs. The Heat?

No, the biggest what if is what if George Shinn had sold a share to MJ in 1999?

MJ would have joined a lineup of Mashburn, B Diddy, Elden Campbell, PJ Brown, D Coleman, J Magloire, and Bobby Phills (RIP) that won 50+ games in its own right. Insert Jordan (even at that age) into that lineup. Finals.
