    Default Andrea Bargnani

Have any of you actually seen Andrea Bargnani play?
draftexpress actually has him rated as the number one player in the draft. Is he really the next Dirk Nowitzki, or is he jus the next Darko Milicic?

Hes not the next Dirk Nowitzki. Because he\'ll be better than Dirk. I have seen him and he the best Non American player coming entering the NBA in many a year.

From what little I\'ve seen on NBA TV, he won\'t be the next Dirk Nowitzki, Maybe he\'ll be more of a Pau Gasol, which ain\'t bad.

This is all I have seen of Bargnani. The highlights are sweet, but from what I have read, this seemed to be his best game, and he is rather inconsistent. After the Darko fiasco, I don\'t think I could justify drafting another foreigner. There are too many questions about adjusting not just to the NBA, but America. But nonetheless here is a link to the highlight and it is rather impressive:

The highlights are impressive, but I think that there are too many unknowns in drafting an international player that high. With a college player you get 30+ games per year worth of film to watch, but with these international guys, sometimes the coaches hide their best players on the bench and only play them 10 or 15 minutes a game. Drafting one of the foreign players is a big risk.

It\'s true because there is more to being a quality player then just having on court skills, if you have to move to a new country it can be tough. I think Yao Ming took some time to mature, and in some ways he still is catching his ground. I\'d say the number 1 pick will probably be someone from the college or h.s. ranks.

Another thing that you have to watch out for with the foreign players is that 99% of the time they are notoriusly soft. Yao has had the physical skills since he walked into the league, but mentally, I doubt if he\'ll ever truly be a dominant center
