Any Bloggers in the House???

If you\'re into blogging, We\'ve added a section where you can do your own blogging. Look over in your User Menu to the right, and now you should see links to \'write a blog entry\' and to \'show your blog\'. Theres also a link on the main menu to to display the \'Member Blogs\'.
give it a try and let me know what you think, I\'m still working out a few bugs with the comment system.
This is your area to blog about whatever is on your mind, whether its Bobcats or anything else.

I tried the Member Blog, and it seems pretty cool, I\'m going to do some blogging, once I have something good to say.

zig. are there gonna be places to put articles written by members, like a front page thing where you have certain members appointed to write these articles. or are you just gonna do the blog thing.

second question.. is the member blog thing a way to make your blog stand out... cause if so that might negate the need for a member article section

I can add an article manager feature, but with the current blog setup, with a click of a button I can add anyone\'s content to the front page. Which additional features were you looking for? You\'ve piqued my curiousity.

** Edit ** If somebody writes something that they feel is cool and is frontpage-worthy, I\'m definitely willing to put it out there.

Not really, I just thought it would be cool for members to be able to have their own blog. B)

well im not saying what i have to say is front page worthy haha but maybe if i did write a blog that i thought was decent, it would be cool to have a place for it. now as far as that goes... you could open that up to anyone. anyone who has a decent opinion editorial that they would like to share... i think it would be sweet to have it listed where everyone could see it. and also i would be willing to help with that... whether its screening articles people submit when you dont have time, or just writing my own stuff. either way i appreciate your willingness to make this site better. but we cant just continue this convo and see where it takes us.

I really like that idea.
This weekend I\'ll start working on setting something like that up, so that we can have some front page space for user articles.... And BANG You\'re drafted :P , I\'ll set you up as one of the approvers.

I did some experimenting this evening, and what I\'ve done is set you up as an \'Author\', which means that now in your User Menu, you should see a \'Submit News\' link. This will allow you to create articles and other news content. After you save it, then a \'Publisher\' will approve it so that it can be displayed on the front page. By default I\'m the only Publisher right now, but as we get more people adding article content, I can add you to the Publishers group.
Give the \'Submit News\' link a try to see if its what you had in mind, if not then I\'m flexible and we can experiment a little more.

it looks good to me ziggy, i havent submitted anything yet but i checked the layout... and it looks good. ill work on the first article. and some of the stuff i might submit might be like a very formal blog, where its an opinion thing and maybe just something to stir up intrest in the site and commotion on the message boards. and if thats not the way you wanna go its cool we can just make it a news post time thing. we can just mess around with with it and it might turn out to be a cool feature.
