Default Is the 2006 draft REALLY weak?

I hear so much about the 2006 draft being so weak, but I don\'t really believe thats the case. Of course there isn\'t a Shaq or a LeBron or a Greg Oden out there thats going to turn a franchise around, but lets compare it to last years draft.

If last year\'s #1 Andrew Bogut were in this year\'s draft, would he be the top pick overall again? I have my doubts, if you\'re looking for a bigman, then you would probably take LaMarcus Aldridge over Bogut. Aldridge clearly has more defensive potential than Bogut.

would last year\'s #2 Marvin Williams go that high in this year\'s draft? If you\'re looking for a high flying, sky walking forward, could you really take him ahead of other athletes like Rudy Gay or Tyrus Thomas? Very doubtful. Both of these guys have the athleticism of Marvin Williams and Rudy clearly has a more developed game.

last year\'s #3, Deron Williams? seriously, he\'d be lucky to be top 10 in this draft.

This year\'s draft is even weaker than last year\'s, which was weak. Any time 2 of the top for are Andrew Bogut and an non-point guard playing point guard like Deron Williams, the draft is weak. Deron Williams would definitely go ahead of Brandon Roy.

Marvin would go ahead of Tyrus too. At least Williams has a jump shot.

Thomas is THE most over rated thing in college basketball in some time.

I just hope the Bobcats aren\'t the ones to confirm that.

Of all of the potential draft picks for the Bobcats, Tyrus Thomas is the one that scares me the most. He has the shortest track record and the most hype. It wouldn\'t bother me at all to pass on him in this year\'s draft.

This is not a weak draft, I don\'t see a real possibility of any of these 6 players below being a bust. We should be guaranteed a quality player since we draft #6 at worst.

    Adam Morrison
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Rudy Gay
    Brandon Roy
    Rodney Carney
    A. Bargnani
