Like Steve Burtt, Curtis Withers and Brett Blizzard I would like to know how these guys are coming along at this years summer league since they are the best FA we have picked up.

They say Hollins looks good. They say at 7ft tall and a 40in vertial leap he can get up.And after practice he does diff dunks for a hour. Hes got a 360 windmill everbody loves. He still gets pushed around so expect him in the NDBL Next year.
They say that Withers has a place in the NBA But mabe not yet. He rebounds gets on the floor and goes after it. They said he may go to the NDBL to.
Bizzard is a combo guard and has good range on his jump shot. They say hes spreads the floor well. But look to see him in the NDBL to.
Biggerstaff said he would know more after next week.

    Thanks Ammofan!

A 40 inch vertical is crazy for a 7 footer. He has all of the physical tools to develop into a shotblocker. Its all up to him though.

    So did Chris Anderson.

Kenny \"Sky\" Walker used to be able to get up too.

    Harold Miner had crazy hops.

But none of them were ballers. Doesn\'t matter what you can do when there is no one around, it\'s what you can do in traffic or when someone is defending you that counts.

For all his 7 foot size and 40\" vert, Hollins was a sub 1 block a game player in 4 years at ULCA.

I hope he comes good, we really could do with a solid shot blocker - I\'m just not holding my breath.

I\'m not disagreeing with you, If he displayed the game to go with his athleticism at UCLA, then he would have been a first round pick. Lets hope that he can spend some time in the developmental league learnig how to play center, and some time in the weight room putting on some muscle and then maybe a year or two from now, we\'ll be talking about how we stole Hollins in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft.

I agree Zig. If he can some how get it together and mainly learn to block shots I\'d be stoked.

If we could get our own Steven Hunter type out of Hollins it would be a fantastic win for us.

Can\'t tell you how much I would love to bring Zo in to tutor EO50 and Hollins. It would be a huge benefit to their growth IMO.

Zo would be great, but at this point in his career and in his life, I can\'t see him stepping foot on a basketball court unless he is playing for a championship caliber team.
However, If they were able to convince him to finish up his career with a season in Charlotte, Can you imagine how Okafor and May could improve by working out against somebody old-school like Zo everyday.

Following day 5 of the summer league workouts, Here is what JB Bickerstaff had to say about Curtis Withers

    (On Curtis Withers)
Curtis is one of those guys who gets you possessions and I think thats one of those things, as a coach you love. He rebounds -- he does all of the dirty work. In the scrimmage he ended up with 20 points and 10 rebounds and we didnt call one play for him. All his stuff came from effort, running the floor, getting loose balls, setting screens, and getting open and rebounding the ball. I think thats one thing you really appreciate as a coach. There are very few superstars and then there are the guys who take advantage of opportunities. The way Curtis plays, he has the ability to take advantage of those opportunities
