Sorry Ziggy but I don't agree and I think you are wrong. While I agree that with his hand and conditioning he's only at about 80% but he still has a long way to go with his development before I'll agree he's the next coming.Originally Posted by ziggy
I know that Okafor is 4 years "older" (24 is not old) at this stage I would take him over Oden. Oden is a very poor rebounder for his size and for what he should be doing. His positioning is aweful and he gets out muscled way too easily (see the Buckeyes Vs the Gators last week).
I've seen Oden play about 4 times this year and yes, there is a lot to get excited about but there is just as much he needs to work on (like his passing out of a double team).
Don't get me wrong, I like him, but don't get sucked into the hype just because of the stats. Like Mustachio said: against high schoolers he was dominate. Now he's playing against stronger, more physical guys like Horford he's getting beaten up on and when he gets to the NBA he's going to be coming up against bigger, stronger men.
If he plays against Big Baby and LSU in the tourney it'll be interesting to see how he handles things then.

. Oden's FG% is going to drop though, he shot a mere 8-15 from the field last night.
