    Default Restructuring the Roster

This team is never going to be a winner with the current roster make up.

As much as we may like some players, the team needs to be restructured to get some offensive capability.

We need to be rid of Brezec and Brevin Knight definitely, but the guy who's most in the way of this team winning is the guy who gives his all every night...Gerald Wallace.

I say the team could strike a deal to get something in return for some of those guys in the offseason. We should go after Denver's "J.R. Smith". J.R. Smith is from Durham, NC, and he would definitely give the Bobcats serious consideration. His contract ends at the end of this season.

    Your lineup would be:

    Felton
    J.R. Smith
    Adam Morrison
    Okafor (May)
    Greg Oden (hopefully)

There is some serious young talent to build on there, and some serious offensive ability. But if you take out Joe Smith and move up Adam Morrison to the two, even with Greg Oden, the team still sucks offensively.

Having a real backcourt of a 6'1 Felton & 6'6 Smith, a SF of 6'8 Morrison would be a lethal perimeter threat.

This roster needs to be restructured. Sadly, that means that Wallace has to go if the scenario I just mentioned presents itself, and it could easily:

    1) If we suck all season, we could end up with the #1 draft pick and get Greg Oden.
    2) J.R. Smith is from Durham so Charlotte could go after him hard.
    3) There are some teams out there that would take BK, GW, Primo, Eli, Matt Carroll in different combinations depending on what they needed.

The team needs to be restructured:

    Felton
    J.R. Smith
    Adam Morrison
    Okafor
    (Oden)

    Welcome back Tray,

Do you have Joe Smith (PF Height: 6-10 Weight: 225) mixed up with Joe Johnson or Josh Smith?

No, I mixed him up with J.R. Smith. The guy who got to fighting the other night in New York.

JR Smith is from Durham, NC, and has shown a lot of promise over the last two seasons. He's been shipped around recently, from New Orleans to Denver. I think he may be ready to come home now.

With Iverson, Denver may look to ship JR Smith. Bobcats should offer Gerald Wallace and someone else for JR Smith, because Smith could be a star at Shooting Guard in Charlotte between Felton and Morrison.

How's it going, ziggy. I see you fixed the place up a little. When the 'Cats start winning, it's going to get packed in here.

Ohhhh OK. If thats the case, then yes I'd move Crash for J.R. Smith. In fact, I think the Bobcats could have got him for less than Wallace if they had seriously pursued him over the summer. This summer New Orleans was begging for someone to take him.

The old forum software really, really bugged me. It was lacking in a lot features that I wanted. I bit the bullet and upgraded about a month ago, and I'm glad that I did.

    Hows it going Tray

The only thing that scares me about JR is the attitude. Up until the fight he hasn't been much trouble for the Nuggets because all was going well. My question is, how would he be as a Bobcat having to endure Bernie Bickerstaff's questionable coaching and lame brained rotation patterns. When things don't go well for JR he has a history of sulking and being a malcontent, I could definitely see that happening in this environment.

I wouldn't blame J.R. for the fight. Mardy Collins had that deutsche bag foul. I think I would get in his face for that too. It was all calm until 'melo came in and stirred the pot.

I don't think we should get rid of Wallace, but relegate him to 6th man duty. He's a vital piece, but as a energy catalyst like a Ben Gordon (except defensively). I think we should keep him, but make him an important piece off the bench. He would be lethal.

J.R. Smith, I've been a fan of him since he came into the league. He's only 21 and will grow up. I think having Okafor and some other young guys that have good personalities will definitely help. Othella Harrington would definitely be useful as an older brother like figure, like he is for the rest of the team.

THe 2 spot is our definite need of improvement, along with the center position. Improve either/both and we'll improve drastically. Get one through the draft, and the other through FA. It all depends on our spot in the draft as well. If we have a top 5, get our big guy, if not, look for a stud shooter then a risk/reward big man.

On a side note, Hello Tray. Never met you before, but HI! I'm a Bobcats fan in the midst of the Lebron/Cavs lovefest here in Central Ohio. Where you from?

    Welcome back Tray!

First of all I would do this trade in a minute I've always said Bernie needs to take a chance on some other players we could have got Smith for little to nothing when he left the Hornets but Bernie never took a chance on a player like him who might have some questionable attitude problems but like some others have said he has been great under a veteran coach in Denver so Bernie probaly could handle him as well. Sometimes Bernie has to take a chance on some guys other than choir boys.

Also the combo of Felton and JR Smith would be fun as hell to watch.

Theres no way that Denver gives him up now. Hes been playing too well, and with an Iverson/Carmelo/J.R. core, they have the tools to make a serious run out west.

Woulda been nice to get him here this summer though.

    I'm over in Raleigh, NC.

I think Wallace would rather be traded than fall to 6th man status. That's why I say he doesn't fit.

    Felton
    Smith
    Morrison
    Okafor
(Oden or a serviceable center who is not Primo) would be a great starting 5 to build a team around.

    G. Wallace would rather be traded than a 6th man, I think. I think the Bobcats have more than enough players to shop around to construct a team around the 4 I mentioned, because they could get Smith if they want him (don't know if they'll get Oden).

I think Denver wants to get rid of him, unless Iverson is going to play the point.

I think we could give up Brevin Knight to Denver for JR Smith. Probably Knight and Ely or Primo. I think they'd jump at that.

    Hello, all.
