    Default Doug Collins speculation

In a recent HoopsWorld article they discussed the Charlotte Bobcats development and its need for a new coach to take their young players to "the next level". They speculated tat Doug Collins' ties to Michael Jordan could make him the man to replace Bernie Bickerstaff.

What do you think of Doug Collins as a possibility?

I think that would be a dumb move.

If the Bobcats want to develop, they'll go out and get JR Smith from Denver, and try to get something in return for Brevin Knight, Gerald Wallace, and Primo Brezec, possibly even that soft, sissy acting wimp, Emeka Okafor.

They are never going to win anything with those guys on the team.

    Felton
    JR Smith
    Morrision

Build a team around those three.

You're kidding, Right? You can't get 11 rebounds and 3 blocked shots a game being soft. Emeka is the only hard core interior defender that we have.

    Nope. Okafor is a pansy.

I think that Larry Brown would be a better coach for Charlotte than Doug Collins. MJ tried Collins in Washington, and there's no need to repeat anything that Jordan did there.

    Tray,
Tell me how you figure Okafor is a pansy.

Okafor may have been injured, and has back problems. But a man of his size usually will have some to a varying degree. Marcus Camby is a beast but is injured often. He's probably the most comparable to Okafor in his game.

Tray has a point. Emeka puts up solid rebounding and shot blocking numbers, but once wouldn't you like to see him put somebody on their ass when they drive the lane. He has the body to be an enforcer, but not the mentality to be one.
