Default a BK trade that makes sense (sorta)

ok so we all know that felton is the long-term pg right now for the bobcats. with the recent addition of jeff mcinnis, we now have a solid veteran backup as well, and it's about that time that we cut brevin knight loose and try to get maximum trade value for him.

well looking around the league the team that could use BK the most is in our division. atlanta has an assortment of talented young players with joe johnson, josh smith, childress, the williamses, pachulia...what they DON'T have is a reliable #1 pg. hasn't knight proved the past 2.5 years that he is a solid point capable of running a team? the fit seems perfect.

now i have no clue what the bobcats would get in return for BK. but atlantas GM billy knight (BK! see, it's destiny) might be dumb enough to give us a real deal, like one of their young guns or a draft pick. a potential stumbling block is that we ARE in the same division as them...but i don't think atlanta would mind helping us because they are desperate for a PG, and the deal would only help us get rid of brevin and add to our core. with all the clamoring to get rid of BK this seems like the kind of situation that could work out (other team has dumb GM, assortment of young players/draft picks that we want). thoughts?

that does make sense but their draft picks are too high for them to trade away. they'll probably be in the top 5 in the draft this year and i don't see them parting with that pick for BK. a second round pick does not seem like enough compensation for BK either. i don't know if atl has any picks that are in the late first round that another teams owes them or anything. maybe we could get a bench player like royal ivey or salim stoudamire and a 2nd round pick for him.

I would not mind if we give up B.K. and Ely for just one good three they have. Childers or Williams either one i would take. I would love to see us trade with Atlanta.

The Hawks wouldn't have gone out and spent $6 mil a year on Speedy Claxton if they were in the market for PG that they have already had on their roster and let walk.

They need a point guard, but I can't see them trading us any of their young forwards to get BK... I think BK / Salim might be reasonable.

I don't see a trade in our divison as happening.

    Houston is more likely.

if you say houston, luther head is probably in our range but i think we need a SG/SF alternative to back up wallace and morrison. Matt caroll cant do it alone securing both positions if wallace and morrison both get tired but he's doing a heck of a job now.

That one I really like. Would love to have Williams, he's still not anywhere near where he will be in a couple of more sesons. He has a lot more to give, he hasn't got to show what he can really do yet.
