Big front office changes at the end of the season?

Jordans ownership group must find a way to shake the Bobcats out of their box office slump. Rumors are rampant about impending changes in the front office. Some around the league say the current basketball, staff that includes coach and general manager Bernie Bickerstaff, will be fired at seasons end.

Georgetown coach John Thompson could be a candidate to be the next Bobcats head coach, and some of Jordans friends from his playing days Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing, Rod Higgins and Darrell Walker could join the coaching staff. Each has close connections to Jordan and would certainly indicate Jordan has put a personal stamp on the franchise.

Chances are, such changes would get the same positive national media attention Jordans addition to the Bobcats ownership group got last season.

i think firing bickerstaff as a coach would be fine, but firing as the GM would be horrible. he was the first person that had to do with basketball with the franchise. he has a plan for building the team, and the team is improving every year. i just want to make sure jordan doesn't do what he did in washington to charlotte.

Hopefully Bernie won't coach next year and hoopefully a larry brown or someone like that can come in next year and do the job but i agree with you 123 keeping bernie as a gm wouldnt be all that bad of an idea

I agree, we are an expansion franchise, we arent gonna win the championship in our 3rd year. and im not one to give bernie any slack obviously... and im not even sure we could have won many more games than we have with a better coach. I just personally dont like his politics and his development ideas as a coach.

I feel he has stupid rotations, poor management in the final minutes and just overall doesnt seem to be getting through to the young guys developmentally.

However, we have had 3 drafts and have arguablly hit pay dirt on each one (granted we have great drafting positions so far) . We are very absurdly below the salary cap and have a good group of young hard working players. I think a change in coaching scenery for the guys would be a good thing and leaving bernie as a very capable GM is the best route to go. Give him 3 more years i say. if we arent pushin deep in playoffs by then with this young talent then move on.

Bernie's specialty is player personnel, and for the most part he's done very well at this: AT THE GM PERSPECTIVE. He's not the coach of the future for this team.

Having all those players come in like Ewing, etc would be a huge boost for the franchise. It could be the first "players" franchises run. That would be interesting and innovative. Could you imagine Charles Barkley as our coach? lol.

He doesnt want to find good guys because he claims they cost too much while the owner is too cheap to spend any money on the team.

Too much conflict that we need to resolve to fix this team.

Better coach = better players
Micheal Jordan getting more active = find some talented players
Owner stop being cheap = higher cap salary. lure more big name players to play for here
