    Default Official Draft thread

    http://www.nbadraft.net/

It shows us at #6 and taking Hasheem Thabeet. It also has Marcus Williams at #18 for Toronto's pick...which is ceded to us

i would trade down for chase budinger, i think he'll be awesome in the pros, he can shoot, jump, and handle the ball well. that would give us an additional pick, and hopefully we could get another solid player

or al thornton, i think he'll be solid in the pros, like josh howard or an al harrington type of player. with wallace getting injured on occasion, he could be valuable

I would personally take Chase Budinger over Marcus Williams. He's a lot stronger equaling a lot better finisher. He's also a great shooter. Arizona products know how to drain the 3.

Chad Budinger wont declare this year and even if he did I'm not sure why you would place him ahead of Williams??

Williams has a better killer instinct, better ball skills, higher ball IQ, better shooter, better at creating his own shot.

Budinger is a better athlete but doesn't take it to the hole nearly enough and with force to take advantage of it.

    He's like JR Smith.

I think we should take the best big left with our pick. Unless we make the play offs . If that happens we going to have like a 15 and a 16th picks.Any way with that 2 nd pick its going to be a lot of good sg and sf left.
I would give up both picks and ammo for Durant

    Thanks Ammofan!

Ok, say we continue with this trend and end up with say, a #8 pick and we get Toronto's pick this year @ say, #22.

First, Would you guys rather go with a stud shooter like Chase Budinger/Marcus Williams, go with a raw center with a high ceiling in Hasheem Thabeet, or trade the pick away in a package deal?

Second, with Toronto's pick, should we take a 2nd tier shooter like Morris Almond (assuming we went big first). If we went with a stud shooter first, would you guys want to go with a guy like Nick Fazekas or or Tyler Hansbrough?

Personally, I would take the best big man avaiable first, regardless unless it's a #13 or lower spot. Then I would take a flyer on a guy like Daequan cook or pray marcus Williams falls to me. I think this draft is so deep with shooters, we could get someone that could turn out well for us. The big men are harder to find.

This would also be basing off who is available at our 2nd round pick assuming we still have it. If it's the 2nd round, 8th pick, that's when we go with the best player available, regarldess. Shooter, big guy, point, defensive stud: who cares? We went with the best player left to improve the team. Teams that draft based solely on need always lose. That's why Michael Jordan went #3 instead of #2.

Now, on the topic of trading the picks away, it would really depend on who's on the trade block, what drops into our laps with FA, and what Gerald Wallace decides to do. If a Pau Gasol became available for AMMO and our top pick @ #8, I'd consider it.

What position do you think we need more? SG or C or should be just take the best available?
