    Default February 2007 P.O.M.

The first nominee for post of the month goes to King Taharqa. I think this post pretty much sums up all of the frustration that the Bobcats fans have been feeling towards the coaching staff all season.

Just got back from the game. That was the most disheartening loss of the year. 1 man lost this game for the Bobcats tonight, and that was Bernie Bickerstaff. Bernie is a fucking idiot who should be FIRED right now. The Bobcats led for pretty much the entire game and were playing well. But Bernie's favoritism towards Brevin cost us this game. Brevin was absolutely HORRIBLE tonight. It was a slap in the face to see Brevin start the 2nd half (moving Ray to SG and Carroll to the bench) after he had came off the bench in the 1st. It was a slap in the face to see Brevin running the point late in the game turning the ball over, missing shots. It completely took Ray out of the game (not having the ball in his hands) after he had played so well early on. Bobcats were up 86-83 with 20 seconds left. Brevin steals the ball from Roy CLEANLY then immediately just hands the ball back to him. Portland called a TO, and Roy comes out and hits a 3 to tie it to help force OT. In OT, Brevin continued to run the point and continued to play poorly. Bernie refused to take this guy out (even subbing Ammo in for Caroll early in OT) and it cost us tonight. Brevin Knight fucking sucks and Im tired of Bernie acting like the guy is Chauncey Billups. Why he continues to shortchange Ray for this guy I just dont understand. BERNIE loss this game tonight and felt it was more important to keep Brevin happy then to win the game.

A strong post out of the gate by Fromage
    The thread

I'm also new here, but not new to Charlotte basketball.

I grew up with the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte Coliseum - Sect 126 - Row D - Seats 7 & 8. Wish I could have been there for the auction. I saw the first and last games the team ever played in my hometown. I saw the tuxedos that garnished the 40 point loss. I saw the first win. I saw Rambis beat the Bulls, tipping in that dreadful Robert Reid shot just before Christmas. I saw Mourning hit the jumper against the Celtics, but also remember Dell Curry's clistering night that series. Randolph Keys .. Earl Cureton .. Sidney Green .. Dave Hoppen .. Stuart Gray .. and Calvin - the kind, entertaining, warm-hearted usher that worked right beside our seats for more than a decade. I was sure we'd all see Charlotte win a championship in that building. Remember the team that dominated the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs - before squandering the chance at greatness against Milwaukee? Not long thereafter, I heard the Enya over the PA system when the last home game ended. The Charlotte Hornets had a great run, and I'll always be proud of having seen about 80% of the home games in between the begining and the end. I assure you, no fan took that team's departure any harder than I did.

I live in CA now, but I've decided it's time to have a basketball team to pull for again in my hometown. All things considered with the NBA, I couldn't seriously ask for a better team of guys to pull for. And they're starting to look pretty good.

Ammo in MN the other night had me jumping and screaming like it was Charlotte/Boston in 93. Okafor .. Felton .. Wallace .. May .. Carroll .. Hermann .. We're on to something good with this team, and it will be twice as evident this time next year when we're in the thick of a wide-open Eastern Confrence playoff race.

The team can count one more fan - even though I can't help fill those seats downtown. I wish some more people would. Go Bobcats.

And the winner for February is Fromage

With his first post on the board he expressed what its been like to truly be a fan of the NBA in Charlotte. To have a team, fall in love with it, have that team taken from you, then learning to love a new team all over again.

Congrats Fromage, You had THE most kickass post of the the month.
