Darn.... that's a rough one. I say Morrison, sorry Gerald (not that I don't love you!!!). I just really like watching Morrison and can get into pulling for him.
Which one do we get rid of in the offseason?
The Bobcats need a "true Shooting Guard," and Wallace and Morrison are both Small Forwards, just with two different styles. Morrison is a Larry Bird-type, stiff shooter, and Wallace is an athletic grinder who can't shoot, and surprises you when he actually makes a shot.
You can't really play both at the same time, and you don't, and Felton needs a "real shooting guard" beside him.
So, assuming that the Bobcats get a real shooting guard in the offseason (JR Smith will be available), do they keep Wallace or Morrison?
I say, for purely financial reasons, they keep Morrison, because Wallace is a free agent, and a certain "demographic" in Charlotte would lose its "financial" mind if the Bobcats got rid of Adam Morrison.

id rather see adam starting a SG. you dont always have to think inside the current box. just because Ammo isnt 6'3 or 6'4 doesnt mean he cant play SG. weve gone small for so long i dont see why playing several players above 6'7 is bad. GO BIG he makes the off the ball runs like a SG. and isnt rebounding as well in the NBA as i had hoped. so i think he has played more like a SG to date anyway. Id like to see Felton, Ammo, Wallace, Okafor, someone else.
sorry i didnt mean to sound like i wanted wallace to be cut. i dont want either of them to be cut. However, if you are put in the situation where someone has to get cut, they both have their advantages.
Adam - Cheaper(allows for getting more good players)
Lots of Potential
Ticket sales
Franchise Face
Gerald - Proven player, star in the making
still really has lots of potential
better defensively right now, and probally as long as they both play
id just like to see us keep em both.
Crash. He's a more rounded player, is improving his shot every year, can defend ANYONE. Is much more versatile, a better rebounder, and has a winner's instinct(although Adam does too).
Crash's hustle style just defines the bobcats. Take a look at the "bobcats elimination thread" and you see where the fans stand. Currently it's Crash @ 15 and Adam @ 5.
Adam will be a good possibly all star player in the future, but Crash is more the face of the franchise. That hustle all out style of play has won over many fans.
Who the fuck is Dominic Mcguire
Its no way we get rid of Wallace, and if we get rid of Morrison hes going to have to be packaged with first round draft picks to pick up Derant or Olden. Why not keep both. Morrison is going into just his 2nd year. And Wallace is a top choice to be a ALL STAR next year. As for a two guard we have the hammer and 2 first round picks in a deep draft. All so the team has a truck load of cap space so they can pick up any body they want including JR. Smith. Either way you look at it we going to be good and going to be a very deep team
Thanks Ammofan!
I disagree with you bump about the face of the franchise.
Ever since Adam got here hes been on the promotional items and interviews and all kinds of stuff... while i dont think Gerald has ever done an ESPN interview ever.
What im sayin is. I know and you know and everyone here knows that the Gerald Wallace is the guts and heart and embodies this teams spirit. He is the hustle, he is the determination. However die hard bobcat fans like ourselves are very rare to find. we just dont have a huge diehard fan base yet. Most people that go to games are just there for business or to get drunk (which i cant argue with) I guarentee unless someone is an NBA fanatic or lives in Charlotte, they dont know who Gerald Wallace is. But everyone knows who Morrison is.
I think that shows how much we need them both. Adam gives us the face(as ugly as that mug may be) and Wallace gives us that drive and deterimination we desperately need.
I can't understand that why we should give up one of them. Why should we make a choice among em? Are they very similar players? No. Then.. to make room for JR Smith?

I think that we should keep Morrison. He has a lot of potential and I think he is the franchise face. I know alot of people who only go to Bobcats games to see morrison.
Wallace is good on both ends of the court but I think that ammo fits in better with the other players(okafor, felton, fabio, etc.)

Are you guys smoking dope, I would take GW over AMMO any day of the week, and I'm sure that every GM in the league would do the same. GW puts up numbers in every column, every night, I could care less who does the interviews or sells the most T shirts, I want WINS, and GW is giving us that. Hell, I would take Fabio over Ammo, he is a better shooter, rebounder and defender.....I can't believe we are even having this conversation.Originally Posted by ammofan
