Default The Overrated / Underrated Game

Name a player that plays or did play in the NBA and the next person posts if they thought they were overrated /underrated or fine where they are. That person then names another player. I'll start off with ...

    Yao Ming

    WIth Ming starting: 25 - 16 61% wins
    Without Ming starting: 20 - 12 62.5 % wins

    Rasheed is underrated.

He catches a lot of flack because of his technicals, but without his rebounding, defense and dagger in the heart 3 point shooting, the Pistons wouldn't be a championship caliber team

Nash is Overrated, but whenever he's not on the floor his team struggles.

The reason he is overrated is because he's not good enough to be a 3 MVP type player - he's a product of the system. In Dallas he was just a good Point guard, but not great.

If they had Mike Bibby, Jason Terry, etc etc, instead of Nash, they probably would not have much of a drop off.

Next on the list: Kirk Hinrich

kirk hinrich is underrated. he consistenly scores and dishes the dimes night in and night out. he is leading a very balanced bulls squad that should make a run to the eastern conference finals. without kirk they would not be bad, but with him they are a whole lot better.

Dirk is rated just about right.

He isn't Larry Bird, but he is one of the top 5 players in the league.

Vince Carter is slightly overrated, mainly because of his work ethic.

When he plays with fire and tenacity, he's underrated because he can win almost all by himself. The problem is getting him to do it consistantly.

Vince can just score with so much ease, it's amazing when that green light in his head is "on".

Overrated a bit by the media (it's the Emeka fan in me) he's still one of the best big man to come in the league in a long time.

    Carlos Boozer?

Carlos Boozer is underrated. He's not talked about too much (except for the cleveland fiasco), but for a guy to average 21 and 12 in under 35 minutes a game is a stud. It also helps that he is shooting 56% from the field. He's helping lead his team to the 3rd highest fg% team wise (47%,better than Dallas, and worse only to Phoenix and San Antonio). On another team note, it also helps that his team has the highest team differential against opponents rebounding: they average 5 more boards a game than their opponents.

He's not a block threat, but he anchors a Jazz team that is tops in the division, has a better home record than San Antonio, and has improved the team each year standings wise - 26-56 two years ago, 41-41 last year, and is 48-29 this year.

The only downfall, which is a very very large one, is that he's injury prone!!! And don't get me wrong (I hate the guy because of the Cleveland incident), the rest of the Utah squad is very talented.

Baron Davis is overrated, he had a few good years early with the hornets, but over the years hes become a me-first 3 point chucking point guard.
