    Default Starting safety

Since we didn't draft a safety who will start at S for the Panthers. I keep hearing that Minter will be starting at SS and Salley will be starting at FS.
I think with the safety's we have on the roster they are the best 2 for the starting spots.
I think the guy we drafted from Baylor, C.J. Wilson might turn out to be a good Safety. He played CB in college but were turning him into a safety,
It looks like once again we're gonna have Safety's that aren't good in coverage. Hopefully with Lucas, Gamble, and Richards at CB the safety's won't have to cover much.

he needs to get some bulk to be an effective safety.

I'd rather move Gamble to safety because Marshall and Lucas are both better than him at CB.

Considerable, but in college Gamble was recruited as a wide reciever, and moved to corner largely because he didn't have WR quality hands. He's only been doing CB only since his sophmore year in college.

That's really a tough call because Gamble has upside still, but he has the size and tools for it.

I think you guys oughtta give Nate Salley a chance. I've watched him every game in college and he can play man coverage or plow the run....he's got the skills to be effective.

I'm all for giving Sally a chance. I still think it'll be Sally and Minter as the starters when the season starts. I'm just saying if something happens like Minter goes down with an injury then we should at least give it a try.

    Agreed.

Maybe he'll get some preseason reps @ safety?
