I think after watching the Nets get dismantled, they need to retool. I think the Cavs would be a good team to trade with, for this reason.

Cavs have Gooden and/or Varajao. Nets have Kidd. The cavs are much more prepped to go deep into the playoffs, and the Nets are in need of a big man to go with the rebuilding process.

I think if the Nets traded Kidd for Drew Gooden and David Wesley (expiring contract) and maybe a draft pick somewhere, it would relieve the Nets of 12 million a year and let them start Marcus Williams, who is their future.

Gooden is a tough rebounder, which is just what the nets need. Kidd is obviously a good all around player, but is getting older and they have a replacement and other needs (big man, salary dump, etc).
