I just think it's time for us to address that position whether it be in the draft or free agency. The upcoming draft would be our best bet to pick up a two guard, considering it might be the deepest position this year.
He has quick hands and feet, the perfect size, and an improving jump shot. I'm not suggesting full time SG, but playing it sometime? If he was capable of this, we would have more flexibility on who we draft....
Or we could even trade the picks for Ray Allen, Jason Richardson, Ben Gordon, etc etc.....
Who the fuck is Dominic Mcguire

i definitely agree. if we don't get brewer at 8, then we've got to take/have either fernandez, belinelli, or williams on the 22. we better trade up to make sure we still have those on the draft when it's our time to choose.Originally Posted by eaton_branden1
P.S. has crash actually tried playing SG on games before? how did he fare?

He can't shoot and neither can Felton. You can't have an NBA backcourt with two guys that can't shoot.
We HAVE to have a consistent perimeter threat, period.
On O he doesn't have good handles, court vision or lateral movement and his best work on D is done in close rather than chasing SG's around the outside.

One thing though; Crash shot 42% from 3 after January 1st...so the idea that "he can't shoot" is fast becoming fiction.
Anyone concerned with Brewer having very poor handles? If we took him we'd basicly have 1 guy in the starting lineup who can get the ball across the court on a hard press.

Crash did start hitting 3's at a nice clip after Jan but they were wide open shots (defenders sagging off him) plus he only put up 77 of them (and hit 31 of them). I think if he was the gun with a defender in his grill he wouldn't do as well. Of course, if the have to respect his shot, it gives him a chance to blow by them.
On Brewer: Not to concerned about his handles. I was reading during the week that his handles are actually pretty good. Some of the Gator guy's used to call him the "drunken dribbler" because when he dribbles he looks drunk and out of control but in actual fact he's pretty consistant.
It's good to read on DX that he has been working on his handles. In my perfect world I want a JJ or Iggy type at the 2 who have great handles and can create for others, but I think that Brewer has all the tools to learn to do that.
I think he could play the 2, but he's suited for the 3. Drafting Brewer if he's there or any of the other SG's at 22 would be a lot better than moving him to SG.
