I strongly agree Edrow, It shouldn't take 8 days of negotiations (so far) to reach an agreement with Gerald. Logically I realize like others are saying that there isn't anyone out there that can outbid us, but paranoia is starting to creep in.

    Relax...

the longer we wait the more we drive his market value down and the less we will have to offer him.

Once he realizes that his true market value is only about $7 million (since no one has any cap room) he will be happier to settle for the ~10 million we offer him.

Also, we might still be looking to acquire one more free agent which means we have to sign them first before we can sign Wallace.

Trust me, theres no way we would have re-signed Matt Carroll if we weren't going to re-sign Wallace. It wouldn't make sense to throw so much money at a backup SG if we weren't planning on re-signing our star player for $9-$10....

Today I have been getting a lot of emails from my friends saying that they heard from friends-others that he is signing a 6 year / 60 million deal that progresses from around 8.5 mil the first year. Sorry don't have any sources but it is just the buzz i've been hearing

We can't drive the price down to low. He could go sign an MLE with another team and then cash in the year after. If it's the difference in a million or two per year, he probably wouldn't risk it. But it nets him an extra 3-4 million a year, playing on a contender, he might.

I don't think he'll drop that low though. I also don't think that's what's holding up the signing. My guess is there's a million dollar per year swing each way, and both sides are just making sure they're doing the right thing.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

AOL's NBA fanhouse just made a blog entry today discussing Gerald Wallace and where he might end up:

    Read it here:

In the entry they throw out some mysterious 3 team trade involving the Dallas Mavericks thats being discussed. I believe that its just BS, but has anyone else heard any rumors of a 3 team deal in the works involving Crash?

...just another blogger with a Josh Howard for Gerald Wallace deal and the now standard comment about Howard being the better player ... ugh please Crash sign so we can put this stuff away...

Hopefully the Mavs will listen to their fans and leave Crash alone. I'd hate to have them lose their beloved Josh Howard, really I would hate that. Gerald Wallace > Josh Howard totally, not the least of which is hops and entertainment value.

If Wallace is traded for a guy like Howard I'd be so pissed off...

EDIT: Here is something else on a possible trade, doesn't so who for, but it says that they are trying it...

Nice to see that it's getting closer, but until it's a done deal, I want rest easy....
