the longer we wait the more we drive his market value down and the less we will have to offer him.
Once he realizes that his true market value is only about $7 million (since no one has any cap room) he will be happier to settle for the ~10 million we offer him.
Also, we might still be looking to acquire one more free agent which means we have to sign them first before we can sign Wallace.
Trust me, theres no way we would have re-signed Matt Carroll if we weren't going to re-sign Wallace. It wouldn't make sense to throw so much money at a backup SG if we weren't planning on re-signing our star player for $9-$10....
