    Default Warriors will miss J-Rich

Hey, this is a lifetime Warriors fan here. I just wanted to send the Bobcats and especially Jason Richardson all of the best.
You guys got a hell of a player, and an even better person to represent your organization.
First off, the player: JR improved his game every year of his career, besides last year that was injury plagued. All facets of his game imporoved every year. He works harder than anyone in the offseason in an effort to improve his skills. And this was all for the benefit of the team. Even after he signed the big contract, he improved his scoring, rebounding, and assists from the "contract" season. He led the Warriors the lat 4 years before last in scoring. Not to mention his Sportscenter highlights. I will miss everything about his game.
The person: There is a reason he was so beloved amongst an NBA duldrum of a team. He was commited to bringing us to the promised land, AKA the Playoffs. He was so distraught after the 05/06 season, he baught the back page of most local sportspages to apologize, and ensure tat would be the last year.....He lived up to his word. After Baron showed up a few years ago, JR took a step back knowing tghis would be the best for the team, and team chemisry started with that unselfish(in the NBA?) move. Then after the big trade with Indiana last January, he knew he would have to accommodate more with less, and I have never seen the Warriors so cohesive. he has always been a part of the community. HGe is as stand up of a guy as you will find. No nightclub shoting headlines. No domestic violence here. Just a baller with a sense of responsibility.
I can keep going. God knows I cannot wait to finally see JR in the AllStar game. 2 years ago, he should have gone with the #s he had, but the Warriors are less of a name, and people wanted Ray Allen instead. next year he will finally get his very deserved trip.
Again, although this trade will probably work out for both parties involved, it is still very hard to see a great player and fan favorite go.
    Here wishing y'all the best.
    Go J-Rich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oldscule,
Thanks for the lowdown on Jason Richardson. From everything that we hear, hes a quality "team first" type of guy.

One question though, last season how concerned were you guys over the knee issues that he was having? Was it just a minor procedure, or were there serious concerns?

It was actually a blessing in disguise when he went down with the broken finger. He was trying to come back before the knee was healed. he was getting setbacks every-so-often. With the extra month he got with the hand injury, the knee got noticably better. As of the playoffs, it wasn't 100% healed, but he still had some hops, and a lot of promise to how close he was to healed. I would think after a good offseason, JR will be highflying fo you guys next year. I would not worry. He will do all it takes to be 100% for next season.
