Default Cap space for each team

Hear is a list of what each player makes . And a team total amount of signed money for each team . It gives even me a good idea as to where we sit.

i dont understand how getting J-rich put us around the cap limit, yet NY is at 88 million on the payroll.

Supposedly getting J-rich crippled us cap wise as Stephen A so eloquently put it. looks to me like we are sitting pretty.

thanks dav for the link.... i had seen our list, but was interested in the other teams. thanks.

the cap is 53.5 million this year. (the cap for next year is currently being figured out and will likely be around 55-56 million per year)

the bobcats, as pointed out in the link dav provides above, are currently at 34 mil and change. that leaves us with likely 20-21 million dollars in cap space going into this offseason. THAT IS A TON OF CAP SPACE STILL. We gotta take care of our own (sign wallace, carrol, okafor) and we will still have plenty of money. people that say J-richs contract hurts us couldnt have been more wrong. we will go into the season with an above average starting squad and very decent young depth and still have money to spare... thats a great thing. Even better the teams average age is 25. even better than that.... Next year we lose about 7-8 million in the old guys like Primoz, Harrington.

Next year, we get younger and free up more money. say what you want about Bernie Bickerstaff... the man has done well to get us here this fast and this efficiently.

We siting at 30 as far as contracts signed. If wallace wants to play for us we have the green, If he dont i still think we have the money for Lewis. we should be able to sign Wallace and OK50 and Carol. I would all so would like to tie Walter a few years too.

I'd like to remind that fact. 34 million total payroll does not mean that we can use 20 millions to sign players. We didn't renounce Gerald, so he still counts around 7.5 millions in our cap. Matt Carroll still counts over 2 millions. So we have NO chance for a player like Rashard Lewis. We have at most around 10 millions of space as of now, that can help only to sign two MLE player.

we can wait till next year for okafor to resign him cant we?

if we sign wallace for abotu 10 mil that gives us enough to still sign carrol...(if he commands more than 4-5 mil then we are getting robbed)

if wallace doesn't sign we would have to cut someone like harrington to get lewis and probably wouldn't be able to get carroll

the key to our success is wallace resigning

Tamb is that still true even after he opts out of his contract. It showed the 1.5 buy out for B.K. Wallace is not shown at all . Just asking because you know more about those kinda of things.

yeah tamb, but we can go over the cap and get around things like that.
Look at new york, they are paying like 5 guys tons of money and they arent even on the roster.

if we lose Gerald and Matt... we had best be goin after Lewis no matter what it costs.

We have a chance at anyone we wanna go after, period. its all a matter of how much Bob is really willing to spend.

and yes we can wait till next year for okafor, but he would likely do what Wallace did and opt out. So if we sign him this year we have no competition... wait till next year and we will have to fight with a lot more teams than wallace is demanding to keep okafor.

We can wait till next year, but he'd be a restricted free agent then. That's always a danger. Anyway, Okafor's extension will begin with 2008-09 season. No effect on this season. If Wallace doesn't re-sign then we have a legitimate shot Lewis. But this time, Lewis would probably go to somewhere until June. If we miss Wallace, we'd have to wait til next year for a good free agent signing.

Yes, BK is shown 1.5 million on the board. Because that's true. We didn't buy out Knight's contract without giving any money. We waived him, and just like other waiving operations, it's on the salary cap board. The money you paid to a player for a season is always shown on the salary board.

And Wallace isn't shown, because he is a free agent and we didn't waive nor renounce him. That means we still have his Bird Rights, that's why we are the only team that can sign him to a 6 year contract. Check out here, if you didn't renounce a player he still counts on your salary cap, I'm sure you'll get a better understanding. http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#30
