I agree with what he said about the J-Rich signing him and Carroll will be great role players for us next season. Now the Bobcats have traded for another scorer, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Jason Richardson, and intend to re-sign two other wing players -- Gerald Wallace and Matt Carroll. Rather than sound threatened by all that talent, Morrison seems a bit relieved that the spotlight might turn in another direction.
Morrison says he plans to "take all the pressure off myself because I think there's more pressure on other guys now. I can be a second or third guy and just go out there and play, have fun."
He says he's re-evaluating his play this summer and trying to add some muscle. The 6-foot-8 small forward played at 205 pounds last season.
"There's definitely going to be some competition at the wing spots," Morrison said. "I'll try to fit in somewhere and be able to play."
RIP Michael Jackson & Steve McNair
He needs to work on his shot and get some confidence back, a lot of which I think will come with taking away that pressure he had last year. As a sixth man I think he will play a lot more like a #3 overall pick if we do resign Wallace.
