Default A few notable point guards left...

While looking for another center, I came across a few more points....

    PG Jannero Pargo (Hornets--formal team) PPG 9.2 | APG 2.5 | SPG 0.6
    PG Earl Boykins (Bucks--formal team) PPG 14.6 | APG 4.4 | SPG 0.8
    PG Jeff McInnis (Bobcats--formal team) PPG 4.3 | APG 3.3 | SPG 0.4
    PG Will Blalock (Pistons--formal team) PPG 1.8 | APG 1.2 | 3P% .200
    PG Daniel Ewing (Clippers--formal team) PPG 2.9 | APG 1.5 | 3P% .318
    PG Junior Harrington (Grizzlies--formal team) PPG 5.2 | APG 3.1 | SPG 0.7
    PG Darrick Martin (Raptors--formal team) PPG 3 | APG 1.4 | SPG 0.1

I actually wouldn't mind Pargo from the Hornets, he made 1 million last year, so he wouldn't be too much and his season wasn't too bad...McInnis would be a bad guy to resign. Harrington either....

Pargo would be a nice fit, as would his running mate, Devin Brown. I'd probably prefer Brown, but either would be nice if the price is right.

The guy can flat out fly . He would be great for a run a gun off. Hes just young a may make a lot of mistakes. He would be a great 3rd point. Hes got a lot of upside. I would still like to see Armstrong from Gastonia as a veteran back up.

Figuring we're going to have approx. 7 million to work with in getting both a big & a backup PG, what would it take to get Pargo, Brown or Armstrong salary wise?

Devin Brown slipped off the radar two years ago when he signed with Utah. He broke out a little bit with San Antonio in 04-05, not playing consistently, but playing very well when he played. He was more of a shooting guard in San Antonio as he was in Utah. He couldn't quite get his game together and kind of disappeared. However, last year he had a nice little run starting for New Orleans. He got some nice assist numbers and was able to score.

I can't find the article, but I read somewhere that the Hornet coaches liked Brown better than Pargo because he was a little more steady. He started a lot of games for NO to.

By the way, I read that Pargo was looking for a 4 year deal in excess of the $1.05/Y he was getting. If we could sign either of those guys for $2/Y at three or four years, that would probably be alright.

I'd be happy with either as a backup, but if they were both going to be about the same price, we might as well get the one more favored by coaches.

If Pargo would take a deal maybe 2-3 years at 1.25 million I say give it to him, he's be a nice back-up...

I think about 1.25 might get Armstrong for one year vet mim.
Brown im not sure about like Pargo 1,25 for about 3 years.
Me i personally would rather go with a one year. With any of those three .
May be Armstrong for one and Brown for three years. Give brown a chance to get use to being the no. 2 point.
Or just Armstrong and draft say a TY,Lawson next year.
Geting a decent big scares me more than geting a back up point.

Pargo is basically the only guy from that list that I would spend money on. I have no idea why Ewing is listed as a PG. He'll never make it at the 1 in the NBA, he wans't one in college.

Hey, those numbers look pretty good! If Armstrong would come for the vet minimum I'd like him for experience, and probably Pargo next and really look to lock him in as 2nd PG...esp. if we can get him that cheap.

Those look a heckuva lot better than the deals I've been seeing (Arroyo for 4, Rafer Alsten 3/15, etc.).
