    Default Friends.

So yea, all my old friends from high school (graduated 2004) that I still talk to have become major losers....

What's up with that? I mean don't people understand the concept of a job = pay and that thinking a day in advance on your life doesn't cut it? All of them(about a dozen) have dropped out of school, most of them still live with their parents, or are living in the same town that they lived in as high school, with dead end jobs just rotting away. It sucks knowing that no matter what you do or say, that it doesn't seem like they'll ever be of any real use in the world, rather than just do drugs, be retarted, and working mindless jobs the rest of their lives rather than even TRYING to make something out of themselves.

It's very frustrating knowing that I work my ass off to become successful and not live with my parents, graduate, etc etc; and all my buds are just...there.

What the fucks up with that? Anybody else had this happen to them? It's a huge reality check and is a real kick in the balls.

    Just needed to vent.

    Bumpus,

Right now it might seem like they have it easy, but believe me, in a few years, they are going to wish that they had worked their asses off like you did.

There getting dangerously close to the point in life where (living with your parents = being a loser). They can get away with it now at 20 or 21. But around 25 it starts to look real bad.

Two words. Military service. That's what I did after high school, and it was the biggest kick in the ass for anyone who needs it.

I literally got out at the beginning of this month, and my parents can't understand why I don't want to live with them or have them support me while I'm in school. It's because the military teaches you that nobody is going to help you do anything, you have to do it on your own when push comes to shove. Sink or swim, It's the best way to learn. IMHO

This happened to a lot of kids I went to high school with (class of '89 -- I feel old). Many were the cool kids that never figured out how to work and live a lifestyle that was good for them. A bunch went to jail for stealing or drugs. 5 actually died (one from cancer, one from a bike accident, one was murdered, and two in the RI club fire). They were just idiots.

People usually figure it out, or not, by 23 or so.
