2007-2008 player predictions: Ryan Hollins

I thought it would be fun to take each player and have everyone give their best case scenario, worst case scenario and most importantly their prediction of what they thought this player would do on the court this upcoming season. As the season progresses, we'll be able to refer back to these threads to see who had the best handle on what the players were going to do on the court.
We'll add one or two more players on the Bobcat's roster each day until we get predictions for the entire team.

First on the list: Ryan Hollins


Best Case Scenario
The light comes on and Ryan figures out how to play for extended minutes in the NBA, he uses his incredible athleticism to snag rebounds, block shots and make the occasional Sportscenter highlight.
7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks per game

Worst Case Scenario
Ryan gets bullied on the court and exposed for not having enough true basketball skills to become a true NBA player
1ppg, 1rpg - shipped back down to the NBDL

My Prediction
Ryan shows flashes of potential and becomes a 10 minute a night guy in the rotation taking the a lot of Primoz' minutes.
5ppg, 5rpg, 1bpg

Hollins looked pretty good IMO at the Summer league, his reverse slam still is in my head, but he won't get the minutes he did there. He's a better runner than Primoz and I think he could end up taking the second spot from him by the end of the season if Okafor starts there. If Okafor starts at PF, than I think he could see some games what he starts, but he won't do many. I could see him at a nice 7-8 points per games 6 rebounds, and maybe 2 blocks with 1-2 apg...

I think he starts the season on the injered reserve . Not being a top 12 player along with Davidson, who develops the most breaks into the top 12 . As of now both players are projects. But i look to see at least one of the two be key coming off the beanch late season.

Best case scenario: He somehow gains muscle and can hold position in the paint making it harder to double Oak50. Adds 12 pts 5 boards a game.

Worst case scenario: Gets posted up by Raymond on a daily basis, and get's shipped back to the D-League.

Prediction: I think he'll hold on to his roster spot, but really don't see him being much of a contributor. Now if we lose Sean,Dudley,Oak50, and Primo, then he'll get some numbers cause he'll be our only big left.

I think a good case scenario is a full year in the D-League developing his basketball skills. He is a great athlete but he would thrive in the DLeague where he would get PT. For the bobcats, a full season of 20+ mins per game for this kid could earn him a #2 center role behind primoz
