Batista.
The wheels are going to fall off Jackson any day now. If this were a couple of years ago, I'd say Jackson hands down. But he wasn't especially effective last year. We might as well err on upside.
Which one would you rather have at this point? Batista tore it up in the Fiba's and he's younger. Jackson is a vet and is solid. Right now I'd take either one because we really need a big guy, but I'd rather get Batista and see what he can do with some playing time.

SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
Agreed. Look at Jackson's games played during his career:Originally Posted by Dnbman

Batista is still a project . We have two all ready but i would still take a chance on him . To me he looks like our best option.
Thanks Ammofan!
This article says that the Celtics worked out Batista (and others) Sunday and probably again today.

Since nothing has happened yet with us or anyone else, I'm starting to wonder if Batista doesn't prefer Boston and is just hanging on waiting for his agent to close the deal and give the go-ahead. My only hope is that Boston/Ainge decide again that they don't really want him. That's probably our only hope as it doesn't appear that we're his first choice by any means.
That's so frustrating. He could come here and settle right in to the rotation.
I really don't look forward to seeing Marc Jackson.
Bobcats Redemption?
whoever it is, they'll likely be in large part inactive for games anyways.

I don't know about that Bumpus, maybe. It could be he'd move ahead of Hollins, and/or Davidson though. This is John Hollinger's assessment:
"Scouting report: A physical banger -- some would say "goon" -- he doesn't have the athleticism to finish plays inside or the skill level to hurt opponents from the perimeter. Right now Batista only has one positive -- rebounding -- but he could conceivably be a decent end-of-the-bench guy if his midrange jumper found the net more often and he learned how to set a legal screen (illegal picks being the primary cause of his astronomical Turnover Ratio)."
Wow I guess John isn't a fan :P . But the "goon" part I really didn't see in summer play. I wonder if that isn't a reflection of how he was used in Atlanta. As for athleticism, he sure was finishing plays when I saw him. He is a big body, but hardly soft like Harrington or Marc Jackson.
Its probably moot. I'm getting the feeling the man is heading to Boston.
Bobcats Redemption?
Good find Keetch.
You'd think if we really wanted him we could outbid for him. I still think he'd see more burn with us over any of the others.
Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
Money can't be the issue . I think both teams are offering the same but i agree with Spectra he will get more burn hear. They may be offering him a two or three year gig as we only offering one.
Thanks Ammofan!
